Now, I said I wasn’t going to hate on Taiyang for this post. So, please excuse anything that may be construed as an attack on his character. But, I can call out the writers who decided to fuck up the PTSD arc. I’m just not going to make Tai out to be a jerk with no experience in psychological therapy.

Hmmm, no. With your history of saying one thing and doing another, you don’t get that privilege. Explictly as you make an insult towards Taiyang in this very same sentence. Can’t keep your promises for more than a paragraph than usual eh Doucheblade?

Like I said, I. Don’t. Give. A. Flying. Fuck. If. Writing. A. PTSD. Arc. Is. “Too Hard.” I just want it to be done right.

Which is more right: Having one arc spanning only a few months or having it span several seasons as it is shown to be the life crippling illness that it is. See, the thing is that PTSD is a lot like depression in that since: Something I have grappled with before and have had TRUE insults towards. You think RWBY is bad because Yang’s PTSD doesn’t just poof away after some cliché seasonal arc? Try having an entire anime depict your mental illness with such inconsistency it does far more damage and makes you want to pop you cap in your head. Of course, this is RWBY where whatever the writers do it’s wrong unless it’s an LGBT ship or killing Jaune right?

You either: A. Write it in a respectful, realistic, and serious manner. Or, B. Don’t set yourself up to write one in the first place.

Funny, I said something similar about criticism:

A. Do so in at least partially respectful manner and try to not insult the writers.

Or

B. Shut Up.

You have chosen neither so why should anyone listen when you can’t even follow your own rules?

And again: What YOU were asking for is unrealistic as fuck, disrespectful as shit and so childish we may as well be watching Barney. It takes a lifetime to overcome PTSD and I guarantee you, considering Miles’ wrote LOCUS that way, you’ll be eating your words some day.

And is it not good writing to save a character’s flaws to be overcome latter in the series if said series is made to go on for years? Not like a character has peaked way too soon and severely damaged their media because of it (Goku anyone?)

You DO NOT treat it as a joke. You DO NOT have one of your characters call it “moping.” You DO NOT just write it off as “They’re all better now!”

Considering this is the same people who deconstructed the no goodbye, heroic farewell of Season 10, I don’t think so. There is another six volumes at least of RWBY left (that is if you people don’t kill it off first) so how about you sit your ass down and wait to judge? Oh wait, then you couldn’t possibly bitch and attack the writers and not look like a bunch of whiney bitches huh?

A good writer would treat it with respect.

Like not having the character overcome it because “plot” and portray it realistically by having it be addressed constantly throughout the series.

A BAD writer would complain that writing the arc out is difficult, or try to half-ass it in a way that would be totally insensitive

Like ignoring canonical events, character personalities, character interactions, confirmed sexuality to shoehorn in what you call “queerbaiting”. But no author, especially one that underutilizes such a wide variety of characters and keeps everyone in the dark about the ONE running plotline, would do such a thing correct?

To whichever writer that decided that Yang’s PTSD Recovery arc was “Good Enough,” or (dare I say) “Excellent,” I have this as a challenge for you: Do it in real life. Fucking DO IT IN REAL LIFE. I want DEMAND that you use the EXACT same techniques that you decided were “good enough” on an actual person with PTSD in real life, and look me, or any other fan who has a beef with how you presented it dead in the eye, and tell us that it. Worked. I fucking want to see you use it.

And yet I would bet fifty dollars that if a father who had a joking relationship with  their children and had at least a third of a bad of a life as Taiyang walked up to you, you wouldn’t say a goddamn word. Hypocrite.

And I bet if we were to match up the latest chapter of “DB Chronicles” to the first episode f RWBY, RWBY would whoop your ass nine ways from sunday.

Unless of course, that this is all leading to an actual recovery arc later, in which case: You could have presented that idea better.

Translation: “This is a loophole I can use to butt out of the bullshit should it come flying back because I have no personal accountability.”

But then again, the head writer has a self-insert character that got to do a lot of questionable things without any form of retribution. My hopes aren’t exactly reassured.

Like threaten to kill a character because they annoyed him, changed the sexuality of two characters tompander to people, uses a daughter to shit on her father, betrays their friends and breaks their promises.

But no one here is that big of a douchebag right?
