#pleiades

mmm imma go the pleiades. the history and mythology of them is SO FASCINATING. Across THOUSANDS OF YEARS humans shared their visions of the stars and when one of them had disappeared she is forever remembered through our myths and stories and oral traditions, being passed down for generations all the way until modern times, where we FOUND HER AGAIN to see she is just hiding behind her sister 💫 so many stars and yet one that was hidden from our eyes was kept in our memories through our mothers and fathers and children. how can i pick any other?

Andromeda galaxy, the Pleiades, and trying a wider shot but I had to filter out my balcony railing because it was reflecting too much light from cars I think. July 12, Chicago

This is some of my astrophotography. You may recognize 2 of these images as my pfp and my banner. In the photo that shows the top of the house, the brightest "star" (right above the wire) is Jupiter (I believe, don't quote me on this these are old pictures and I don't remember well). There's probably some other nifty planets in these pictures but I don't remember. I need to go stargazing again but it's been so hot, and I have to wake up early in the morning for work so I never get the chance.
