Did you know postpartum bleeding is to be expected whether you've had a vaginal or cesarean birth? This vaginal discharge is known as lochia - it's a normal part of birth that results from the uterus replacing its lining and getting rid of the extra blood and tissues that helped grow baby during pregnancy. The bleeding feels like a month-long period (lasting about 6 weeks) that tapers off and lightens over time. However, during those first few days, the lochia is heaviest and a bright red color (rubra). This is when a MATERNITY PAD is absolutely needed most. Standard maxi pads are NOT designed for this heavy bleeding phase. Maternity pads are thick absorbent pads specifically made for heavy flow. Incognito maternity pads are a postpartum recovery must-have designed with these needs in mind -Free from dyes and harsh ingredients -Paraben and Phthalate free -Extra heavy absorbency to lock in more wetness than a standard pad -Features Odor Guard to neutralize odors -100% breathable -With 3-in-1 protection to handle daily discharge, menstrual leakage, and even bladder leakage Make sure you include these maternity pads in your postpartum prep! I'm sharing more about them in my stories tonight - let me know if you have any questions!! NOTE: A few RED FLAGS that the bleeding is abnormal is if the bleeding doesn't slow down or stop, you are soaking through a thick hospital-grade pad in an hour or less, smell a foul odor, or experience nausea. Contact your provide ASAP if you experience these symptoms and more. #postpartumrecovery #postpartumbody #postpartumbleeding #postpartumsupport #postpartummom #postpartumjourney #firsttimemom #afterbirthcare #postpartummusthaves #postpartumessentials #newmom #newmoms #newmomlife #fourthtrimester #thirdtrimester #childbirth #prevailpads #postpartumdoula #4mumy #4mumymother https://www.instagram.com/p/CSwz3OEqa1R/?utm_medium=tumblr
