Thinking about Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, I think Valarr is so perfect that when he makes a mistake it should almost be an international incident, and of course that's all thanks to Aerion and Daeron! Maekar and Baelor decide to travel to Dorne after a long period without visiting, and make the terrible decision to take their children with them.
In Dorne, Aerion, being Aerion, has the brilliant idea of spying on the Dornish women—to see if they are as beautiful as they say—Daeron immediately agrees because he's drunk and thinks it's an excellent idea at that moment. But poor Valarr... he says no, and that they'll get into trouble, but at the end of the day, he's still a man, subject to the weaknesses of a man, and with his two cousins encouraging him, he ends up going there with them.
Upon arriving, the maidens of Dorne are enjoying something like a private party in the princess's reserved halls, dressed in clothes that resemble scarves and dancing while laughing (dresses like odalisques and belly dancing), all just for their own amusement.
Aerion and Daeron laugh mischievously, observing everything through the crack in the door and between the veils, but Valarr is immediately enchanted by a girl, probably the most enchanting he has ever seen, who dances among the others, skipping and laughing as if she weighed as much as a feather.
Suddenly a woman sees them and screams; immediately all the maidens run from the room screaming at being spied on, and the girl turns towards Valarr, startled. But as soon as she sees him, she is paralyzed. He is so handsome, and he is staring at her in such an enchanted way that it makes her feet and stomach tingle.
Aerion and Daeron obviously run far away, and only Valarr remains there, as if bewitched, staring at the girl in those clothes that leave almost nothing to the imagination. That's when the door behind the girl opens, and the Prince of Dorne bursts in, furious and worried. He removes his cloak and covers the girl with it; immediately his gaze shifts to Valarr, and the fury in his eyes grows even more.
The girl was no ordinary girl; she was the daughter of the Prince of Dorne. The prince is offended that Valarr would defile his daughter and dishonor her in such a way, and the blame falls solely on Valarr for being the only one left. (Something that makes Maekar laugh heartily; finally, Baelor's son caused a problem, and not one of his boys.)
And after such a great commotion and a threat of war that would cause the rupture of Dorne's recent alliance with the kingdom that almost made Baelor tear off his own head, he suggested that the princess and Valarr marry to resolve the issue of the offense to their house's honor. Valarr is now engaged to the princess of Dorne, whom he saw only once, dressed almost as she came into the world. 🙃
I've been thinking about writing this, but I've been so short on time these past few days (Unfortunately, college is getting the best of me.) 🥲 So I decided to share it with you, maybe you'd like to write it, or share it in the tags for someone else to write about ♡
Firstly, thank you so much for sharing it with me. I personally think you should just continue writing it, even if you only have time to write little snippets here and there. You've done such a good job with this that I would love to see you write out the full fic!
Secondly, omfgggg this is such a good idea!!! I love Valarr getting into trouble because of Aerion and Daeron 😭 it's so targfamily accurate to me lmaooo.
But it's also so cute!!! I def see Valarr being a 'fall in love at first sight' type of guy, and this does it in such a fun and sweet way! Also, I def think belly dancing would be a thing in Dorne, so I see that as a perfect scenario for this.
I don't really have much to add because this is such a good idea and I think you've done an amazing job with this! I hope you do end up writing it yourself because you're clearly passionate about it and I would love to read it at some point.
(I would write it but I am swamped with too many ideas right now and I would only get to it so late that I would feel bad making you wait around for that...)
