Chapter 14 was posted very recently. Jim & Seb are Very Unhappy. The entire UK is Very Unhappy.  The writers are also Very Unhappy. Aaaaand we probably shouldn’t be writing the next bit in February...

Saturday he woke up early, unable to sleep more than minutes at a time. He kept waking up with a start, afraid he’d slept through his alarm. As if he’d ever do such a thing - he hadn’t used an alarm since he was in school. Even then he was setting his internal clock to wake himself up at the correct time.

He looked over at Sebastian, sleeping next to him - he’d thought after his last blow-up perhaps Sebastian would have taken up residence at last in one of the guest rooms. But no - he’d seemed merely to resign himself to the brittle silence between them.

Jim examined his face - his face looked tense, and there were new lines carved into his forehead, and around his eyes and mouth. Jim looked at him, aghast. Well - there was the evidence as to the toxicity of living with Jim. Sebastian really would be better off without him…

He found himself moving the backs of his fingers over Sebastian’s hair - and then over his face.

Suddenly he found himself staring into the blue of Sebastian’s eyes.

Not much longer, Tiger, he thought.

Journeys End Chapter Nine: Running

I watch you walk away, shout at myself to run after you, but my feet can't move.

Archie touches my shoulder.

"It can be confrontational, being asked questions like that. Best let him cool down for a bit; we can take this up tomorrow..."

I turn around, punch him in the jaw, knock him out cold. He falls to the floor.

I run after you.
