Chapter 16: Nevermore

I love the Night Island as you dubbed it; it's a perfect place.
We can watch films in one of the cinemas on the island, or performances; we go on long walks on the beach at night, and for leisurely swims... the tropical climate makes for warm nights most of the year, and air conditioning takes care of the hot days which we spend in bed cuddling or in a shaded room watching TV or you working on your book and me reading. The villa has a swimming pool which you occasionally jump into on a hot day, but I prefer to stay inside when it's sunny out. Though I love a wet Daniel coming in and cuddling me.
Your birthday this year is a tricky one - 27, the age that I was turned. I know you really want me to turn you this year, I know you're hoping it and I desperately try to avoid conversations on the subject. I didn't ask what you want for your birthday because how will you be able to not say what you want most of all... and which you are convinced is in my power to give you.
