Monkey's cookies are the only things that left from his deceased mother. It was her recipe and she used to make them once in two weeks. Monkey did not tell this the anyone but it is the reason of his protectiveness over them. But his friends wonder why sometimes he tears up when he eats them.

Monkey has a hiding spot at master's garden at top of an almond tree. He goes there when he feels upset or annoyed. He collects and eats the almonds until he is calm again. He also watches Oogway's statue,his apperance helps him to calm himself,even though it is just a statue.
