i’m going to indulge myself and talk about my star tear disease polypd au <3

So Star Tear Disease (at least with how i write it) stems from repressed emotions. The afflicted person will start crying out mini glass stars instead of tears (stage 1) which progresses to crying away colors trapped in those stars. It’s usually one at a time and I tend to write it as a three ish day event (Stage 2) and afterwards any more stars cried will result in vision loss. It is reversible but once a stage is completed you cannot reverse the effects. With the color blindness, if it hasn’t completed and you unrepress those emotions, you can slowly regain those colors again, usually through emotional releases (with how i write it at least).

Now, the polypd aspect.

This will be set ambiguously in the timeline in my head but the premise:

We start with Will, they’re pretty emotionally repressed and suddenly start crying glass tears. They pick up pretty quickly on what’s going on and think it’s aimed at Vyncent. and they decide to feel out how vyncent may feel and react to this confession before risking it This is belief it’s vyncent is fed into as they start losing colors and all the events involve both vyncent and dakota, until their final color, Red. Then Will is forced to decide if it’s worth going fully color blind to figure out how dakota feels. Because he was never repressed around vyncent, vyncent just didn’t pick up on how serious it was

then vyncent gets it and he thinks it’s for will. he thinks it’s anger and fear about losing the weird thing he and will have going and the chance to fully figure out his feelings. and this continues for weeks until he realizes about four colors in the events are more centered on dakota and he never lost what he had with will and was happy having with him. but he can’t love dakota, he can’t love the person who’s so antithetical to him and yet is his sun in the sky, the person who is his biggest inspiration and motivator to do so much better than he is, to be more than whatever he originally intended to be, he’d never deserve dakota, she’s too far out of his league. and vyncent is so fucking angry about it but what can he do about this?

Important Details for this:

- Ashe is also in this polycule, she ends up here through actual good communication and is consistently blogging about it on her tumblr as she watches these dumbasses <3 and she’s so important to their dynamic

- they’re all going to be weirdly gendered <3

- this is dakota centric bc im sick of polypd fics where ghostknife kind of just brushes dakota to the side/excludes him despite being an active part of the relationship
