Foraged some pokeberries for an art experiment
might have walked directly into poison ivy or a bug nest but ✌🏼
Attempt number 3 of pokeberry dyeing in this house. This time I used distilled water instead of tap water like the other two times. But then the dial got bumped (this keeps happening ??? Don't know how to stop it from happening) and the berries started boiling before I noticed. So, this might end up brown again just because of that.
But... this looks a lot closer to the color I got the first time I dyed with pokeberry, at the last place I lived. More salmon pink than anything else. Way too early to tell, but I'm hopeful.
In other news, I think my iron mordant might be ready for a test run soon. And the tannin bath (mostly acorn shells and caps) is looking strong. I've got another batch of acorns to put in the bath so I need to decant it and take the old stuff out, it's just a bit of a pain. Doing all my dyeing stuff on another floor sucks. But still, it's going.
HI BEAUTIFUL!!!
