“Do you think just because my feet don’t touch the bottom of the pool that I need a floatie?”

“I indirected him/her on Twitter for your honor.”

“He/She did what to you?”

“I won’t let you go through something like that again.”

“I’m not perfect, but I’m trying my hardest to do everything to keep you safe.” “Stay behind me.”

“I promised your mom to make sure you didn’t do anything stupid tonight.”

“I love you.  Of course I’m gonna defend you like that.”

“No, he/she isn’t good enough to take you out.  Trust me, I know.” 

“Are you planning to stay glued to my side this whole evening?”

“I’ll be okay, because I know you’re back here ready to step in if I need you.”

“Thank you for always sticking with me.”

“I’m really worried about her/him, but I don’t think he/she wants me to call.”

“I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you.”

Anyone remember the movie, the Purge? These guys are the type of people who would purge on Saturday then go to church on Sunday and see no irony in this.

I just remember that episode of Scrubs where after J.D. and Carla drunkenly kiss, Turk says he forgives them, but every time he says bye to J.D. he punches his arm really hard and is completely unaware he’s been doing it until J.D. stops him mid-motion.

I think this might be the most realistic way Thor would react to the news, telling himself he’s OK with it, but you can’t undo centuries of prejudice in a couple of days, even if Thor has had a revelation about the Jotun not being monsters.

Because if he is working for the Empire, like the M9 seem to suspect (or working perhaps just for the Cerberus Assembly to further their mysterious goals alongside the Empire’s) why on earth is he so interested in the Crawling King?

If he is involved with the Assembly, does this mean some of its members are actively worshiping and trying to free the Betrayer Gods? Or are they merely arrogant enough to believe they can use the Betrayer Gods to cause enough strive in Xhorhas to further their own political goals, without far-reaching consequences the could doom the Empire as well?

Or maybe this guy isn’t connected to power structures in the Empire at all, and is part of some secret Crawling King cult that’s not bound to any nation or powerful organization like the Assembly. 

Given Albia is the oldest Spark known (and holds the title of “immortal god queen”) I’d assume she’s more concerned with keeping herself interested/entertained than most other Sparks.

England is very separated from the rest of Europa. due to being underwater, and Albia’s amount of control over the place indicates she doesn’t exactly face threats from within much if at all. Wooster outright claims the Queen would not “allow” chaos to happen in England like it has on the rest of the continent, implying her will is paramount. So keeping people cooped up for her own stimulation/entertainment may very well be a priority. She may even consider it a “greater good” thing since being so entertained might keep her from doing other, even less savory things (look at how giddy she got at the idea of mucking about in Agatha and /Gil’s heads before restraining herself). We’ll have to see.

Then there’s her enmity with Klaus. The books claim she initially supported his conquest and things only later fell apart. I think the reasons for that falling out were more than just “powerful Sparks tend to jockey for position” since Klaus was perfectly okay with being second fiddle to the Heterodyne boys back in the day and his main concerns are a) Gil’s safety and b) Europa not falling apart; and Klaus himself being in charge are not direct requirements for either of those. Could he have objected to Alibia’s methods of control as being too similar to the Other’s? Does she (and did former “immortal god queens”) have some link to the Other we don’t understand? It seems possible, and something we may need to visit Skifander to discover.

Head!Klaus is NOT gonna be happy with this situation, which makes me think Albia may be amenable to extracting him as while it helps Gil and thus the Empire, it also bugs Klaus and gets rid of something that may be annoying her. Sadly the gang may decide that Head!Klaus might be a necessity as long as they’re around Albia (he knows her most outside of maybe Wooster) and thus only get the means to remove him but wait on actually doing so until they’re away from her.
