That Celebratory Thali - Done The pre-monsoons are here!!!! I can't tell you how much I dislike the summers! And this was a seriously hot summer! So today as it drizzled, I cooked this elaborate meal whilst listening to old bollywood songs🥰 🌧️🌩️ with not a sign of sweat Clockwise : 1. That Repeat Foofoo Chicken Fry I marinated chicken for an hour in a mix of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, my mamma @neelam.diddee 's garam masala powder, salt, lots of black pepper powder, ginger-garlic pastes, lime juice, crushed curry leaves, green chillies & fresh coriander I heated coconut oil & cooked the marinated chicken till done. I added no water 2. That Foofoo Malvani Style Matar Aloo/ Peas & Potatoes I tempered oil with mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, garlic & onions. I added in tomatoes & salt. Once pulpy, I added a spice mix from the Malvan region of India & cooked potatoes & peas along with fresh coriander in this till done 3. Those Tangy Creamy Whole mungbeans I pressure cooked whole moong beans in salted water along with asafoetida. I churned & left to simmer along with fresh coriander, tamarind pulp & coconut milk I tempered ghee with mustard seeds, curry leaves, garlic, green chillies, onions, turmeric powder, coriander powder & red chilli powder. I added this to the simmering lentils & cooked till they thickened a bit 4. That Freshly Steamed Rice 5. That Salad 😂 :Raw onions & homegrown lime 6. Those Wholewheat Parathas 7. That Chilled Super Sweet Alphonso From My Parents' Farm I don't celebrate milestones in terms of birthdays & anniversaries, but I do enjoy celebrating the little joys of life.
