Diziam os céticos, esses chatos armados em cientistas, que os pinguins não vivem na Gronelândia. Diziam que estas aves de fraque e andar de quem abusou no brunch são exclusivas do Hemisfério Sul. Pois bem, a Casa Branca acaba de provar que a biologia, tal como a contagem de votos ou o tamanho de certas mãos, é uma questão de perspetiva.

Na fotografia oficial, Donald Trump caminha com a pose de quem acaba de comprar o Ártico num leilão de garagem. Ao seu lado, um pinguim — visivelmente mais em forma que a média da espécie — carrega a bandeira dos EUA com um orgulho que nem um General de quatro estrelas conseguiria emular. É o "Pinguim da Liberdade".

Diz a intelligentsia do National Geographic que o animal deveria estar na Antártida. Errado. O pinguim não está na Gronelândia por erro geográfico; ele é, claramente, o primeiro beneficiário do programa "Make Antarctica Great Again". Cansado do frio socialista do Polo Sul, onde todos os pinguins recebem a mesma quantidade de peixe (um horror coletivista!), este empreendedor de penas decidiu migrar 15 mil quilómetros para Norte, atravessar a linha do Equador e estabelecer-se em solo gronelandês, apenas para ter o privilégio de segurar o mastro de "Old Glory" perante o Comandante-em-Chefe.

A montagem — ou "realidade alternativa otimizada", como prefere o gabinete de imprensa — é de um rigor técnico impressionante. Se ignorarmos que a sombra do pinguim aponta para Moscovo enquanto a de Trump aponta para Mar-a-Lago, e que o animal parece ter sido recortado com uma tesoura de pontas redondas por um estagiário entusiasmado, a imagem é perfeitamente credível.

O objetivo é claro: se Trump diz que há pinguins na Gronelândia, os pinguins que se mudem. É o chamado "Determinismo Imobiliário". Se o Presidente quiser construir um casino em Nuuk, os pinguins servirão as bebidas. E se a espécie não existe no Hemisfério Norte, isso é apenas mais uma prova de que a Administração Trump consegue criar fauna onde antes só havia... bom, factos.
