Our work is being displayed in a museum! Even better, it'll be sitting in the Window Gallery at the Center for New Music in San Francisco for the next month!!!
[Image ID: A white pedestal in front of a while wall with black floor. On top of the pedestal is a chest lined with a rainbow of reflective rhinestones and filled past the brim with multicolored acrylic gems of various shapes and sizes. This chest is stilling on a pile of multicolored beads which spill aross the top and partially down the sides of the pedestal. There are long, black opera gloves on both sides of the chest which have scalemail across the backs of the hands. These scales are shaped like dragon scales and are arranged in a random pattern of red, green, blue, and purple with a border of black scales. A multicolored pouch with a floral design and a metal-with-turqoise clasp hangs down the front of the pedestal with wires disappearing into the bag from both sides. End ID]
(look at us, telling impostor syndrome to go fuck itself! :D)
How it works:
[Text ID: “Dragonsong by J & Addams. A pair of scalemail gloves that records the sounds of metal against fabric, processes them through a granular synthesizer, and then modulates the resulting sounds by sensing the varying color levels of light - all in real time. Two piezos on the back of the left hand collect the sounds of the scalemail moving against the opera gloves with the performer's motions and gestures; these sounds are then sent to a granular synthesizer. A sensor on the right palm collects the levels of red, green, blue, and clear light in both the ambient light and the colorful glowing gems. An Arduino collects this data from the sensor, transmutes it into MIDI messages, and sends these messages back to the granular synthesizer to alter the amount of effects used.” End ID]
The piezos/contact microphones:

The RGB sensor:

And some colorful glowing gems of rainbowieness for ya nerves:
