Gym Gamma was never a place Haruki visited. He didn’t really have a reason to visit it. Not before today, anyway.
He had spent his time getting ready, not quite sure what the appropriate attire would be. He settled on something simple, just a black shirt and some pants, all of which he made sure would limit how much sun touched his skin.
Haruki wanted to focus on not feeling weak, especially considering he would be training with someone who was much stronger than him.
Rin had been at Gym Gamma for the past thirty minutes. He finished all his schoolwork the day before, so he had nothing better to do but wait here and try to psych himself up. He knew how to fight, he'd sparred with others plenty before, but this was different. This time, he would be trying to teach somebody who didn't have any prior experience, and suddenly, that seemed like a daunting task. What if he was a lousy teacher? Where should he even start?
How did Mr. Vlad start teaching him to fight? It was so long ago, and so much had happened since then, so details were fuzzy. He'd just sort of been thrown into it with the battle trials, right? Learning through experience, having their techniques corrected as they went, putting em through drills to practice the motions. It sounded simple enough to replicate on paper, but...
Before he could overthink things any more than he already was, Haruki's voice echoed through the gym and Rin perked up.
"Haruki, hey," he said as he stood from the bench and made his way over to the other student. "It's good to see you."
