james vc: clover, will you please focus on the mission and stop staring at qrow’s ass?

She’s waiting for him.  As always,  she might want to say were her tongue a touch sharper,  her eyes a decade or two younger.  Watching James descend the grand staircase brings back memories,  just the same as seeing her waiting for him at the bottom of it might no doubt do for him  ---  but they’re memories she can’t afford to dwell on.  Not with the sirens sounding outside in time with the throb in the back of her head. 

“ James, ”  she says as soon as she sees him,  taking a few steps forward.  Willow’s hands are held in front of her,  a thumb running across her palm.  Nerves,  clear as day,  but dulled and brittle by lack of attention.  When had she seen him last?  Had it been two years ago?  Three?  There had been...a dinner,  perhaps.  She doesn’t recall clearly.  But it doesn’t matter now.  “ James,  I need...  I need to speak with you. ”

Her heels click slowly against the tile.  Slowly,  then a bit quicker.  Purpose makes her eyes that much clearer. 

            “...What’s    our   next    move,    sir?”
