I started working at 10:30pm and got into Hyperfocus Mode, didn't stop working on this till till 3:30am.
I was right about the eyes - a prior owner painted over them in the sockets with something glossy and it took some work to break that seal and get them out.
After I had the eyes out, I cleaned the whole doll - scrubbed with baking soda, removed the rest of the paint, brushed and vacuumed the black hairs out of the wig (much to the consternation of the cat because I was using HIS vacuum on the tiny plastic human)
Then it was time to work on the eyes. Nail polish remover didn't help so I opted to sand them clean, working with fine-grit papers to start with and then finishing up with a four-way nail buffer.
Then I had to put the eyes back IN. Which is surprisingly a lot more difficult on these little stationary eyes than the sleep eyes! It took a good five minutes and I had to keep pointing the hair dryer at the head to soften it till I got them in.
Then it was time for haircut and paint. I didn't get a photo of the hair before I prepped the doll for sealing in the morning. I will have to get a photo after the sealant is dry.
Once that's done, all that's left is clothes!
