I'm out of hospital. In about 3-4 days, which dad says is too early for major foot surgery, but you know. Hospital needs those beds.

I'm at my parents house. From the little they keep telling me, I had metal plates and screws put in the inside of my ankle area. I'm in a basic cast. Barely getting about on crutches.

Physically, I guess I'm making good recovery. But I'm missing six weeks of work, I have to speak to all these services about financial hardships.. I was going to the city in a few weeks to see the Zoo as a birthday present trip. That got cancelled. I'll be injured for my birthday. Very likely, with no one to celebrate my birthday with. im very socially withdrawn and cut off, both online/offline these days.

gonna try to work on my carrd more today, because im wary of trying to interact w/ new ppl when i don’t have rules or concrete lore up!!! it feels bad because i don’t want to surprise anyone or have interactions be led with assumptions. i’ve had quite a few issues in the past with people in my inbox/dms attempting to say peter was a child, or (on one memorable occasion) telling me to tag my “problematic ships” in quite a rude and anxiety-inducing manner — referring to rp content that was quite literally between two adult characters (and was sfw anyway). i do love the fun and empowering parts of the rp community, but there is a lot of pretty heinous behavior that generally stems from ignorance. and i don’t use that word as an insult, i genuinely mean they don’t know the content but make assumptions based on the m//cu or limited knowledge.

i guess,, to new followers, peter, ben, and kaine are all fully grown adult men, closer to 40 in biological age (—the clone thing, ben and kaine come into the world AS grown adult men). peter’s official age is never stated after to the initial bite, but he’s lived enough life to have gotten a degree, gotten married + had a child (before mephisto and other shit), been a teacher, had multiple jobs, multiple relationships, attend grad school, etc, you see where i’m going. peter was 17 when he was bitten by the spider, and i keep that as part of my canon. it’s a common misconception that he was bitten at 15 due to some retconning / misinformation in more recent comics / 2000’s comics. i’ve fallen for it before, we’ve all been there, no harm no foul, and if people want to take that as canon it’s definitely not wrong w/ the way comics unravel and redo shit all the time. but that’s not what i’m going to be writing here. i base a lot of my initial “origin” lore off the original 60’s ASM vol 1. peter graduated high school before they reached issue #30. peter has been an adult for essentially 99% of his entire comic history.

it goes without saying that i will not ship with minors, writers or muses. if your character is primarily between the ages of 18-25, i will not ship with you full stop. 26-30 is iffy. anything over 30 is fair game. if you’re looking to ship with any of my muses, that is the hard rule. look elsewhere if that’s what you want.

it’s also important to me that people know that these three are incredibly powerful and intelligent, whether or not they show it. none of them need a mentor. they ARE the ones often in the mentor role (less so w/ ben). you will not find me dimming their capabilities when peter (so subsequently ben and kaine) has been confirmed to be easily on par with the brains of tony and reed—reed even confirming that the only thing peter lacks is resources. they are also (in terms of earthlings) only beaten in strength by the Hulk and Ben Grimm. Peter was recently measured as being more powerful than 99.99% of the human race.

for peter, these abilities are just his responsibility to use for others. he’s still a friendly neighbor, he wants to do good. he could be a god and still be beholden to the mantra of “with great power…”. that part of him doesn’t change even when he himself becomes otherworldly. so… any power-scaling or whatever can be discussed between us, rather than assumed.
