okay I wanna preface this with the fact that I am PISSED.
For those of you who don’t know there are a bunch of people who are saying that Scott’s pantheon design is orientalist and racist. I as a person from the Middle East whose culture is being referenced as part of this “racism” find it appalling. This design is CLEARLY just using flowy clothes because he is a champion of the god of WIND. and another thing that I find WORSE is that people who are actually FROM these cultures are being silenced in favor of an echo chamber. Somebody who claims to have done their research (who I will not mention) has deleted comments of people actually from these cultures saying that this isn’t racist.

AT MOST Scott made an inaccurate design of what Greek cultures were at the time but in that case what about Shelby? That design ALSO isn’t historically accurate but nobody’s commenting on it (as far as I can see) now this is NOT AN EXCUSE TO HATE ON SHELBYS DESIGN. I love her design I think it’s incredible, however it’s unfair to diminish one person for a non-issue when other people are doing the same thing and nobody is saying anything. People are talking about not watching Scott and calling him an orientalist and a racist and that is more damaging than his design will EVER be and it’s frankly DISGUSTING. There is so much worse going on in this community and focusing and harassing a man for having a design that can kind of maybe be related to Asian cultures and calling him a racist is gross when you won’t even listen to what people actually from the cultures he’s “being racist about” like me or my friends are saying. Mandatory Edit: the person I have originally cited has taken down their post and been harassed for it, therefore I am replacing my source with a different post and I would like to request DO NOT HARASS PEOPLE. We can have nuanced discussions about racism without being cruel and diminishing. Please I beg of you all.
