Ok so does anyone remember that embarrassment of a spell tutorial 4 years ago? No? Well it's 2022 and I'm better at crafting and witchery... so we're making a another one. A better one. And more importantly for any baby witches, we're going to be learning some things along the way and this is totally something you can hide in plain sight and tailor to fit your exact purposes.

Here we go!

1. Get your supplies (listed below) together and prepped

*Pictured above is the supplies and a personally designed protection sigil*

A jar

Colored markers or pens that correspond to intent

Paper to fold (can be color paper)

Optional: Nail polish or paint for sealing the stars

Optional: Corresponding herbs is you want

Optional: Colored wax to seal jar

Optional: Decorative charms or thread that correspond to intent

2. Cleanse the jar. I'd recommend moon or sun water (dependent on intent) and/or smoke cleansing with an appropriate incense.

3. Either find or create sigils and/or messages that are part of the spell you want or what you're manifesting. An easy way of doing this is to combine code/letters and then form into a sigil. Below is an example of a peace sigil using pigpen cipher and a more complicated abundance sigil using a more complicated code created in the 1500s. There are other ways of sigil crafting but this is the method I use.

4. Write the sigil/message onto the paper strip and fold it into a star. Make sure the sigil is faced inward and can't be read on the star. This tutorial is quite helpful.

5. Paint the stars (if you want) and put the dry stars in your jar.

6. Put the stars in the jar and seal the jar when finished. Decorate as you see fit. I used blue and silver metallic thread and some matching gold charms for the friend I'm giving this to in the above example

Intent: The purpose of this spell is to assure that the person who carries the bag has a stress-free test-taking experience, and is able to finish their test on time, and without worrying too much while they take their test.

Ingredients:

Aquamarine (for memory, and to promote verbal self-expression)

Amber (emotional ailments cured, unlocks inner wisdom)

Selenite (memory, illumination, healing)

Clear Quartz (amplifier)

Lemon Essential Oil

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

A small glass vial.

Any sigils that you think you’ll need (I used a sigil for productivity and one for being free from stress. You can design them yourself or find pre-made designs online.)

A small watch or stopwatch (represents having enough time to take the test)

An old key (This represents unlocking goals, and is also a physical representation of the witch in the spell. Remember to find a key that vibes with you.)

A small bag or pouch

Instructions:

Prepare your sigils by drawing them on pieces of slips of paper. Make sure that the pieces of paper are small enough to fit into the bag without being folded. One the backside of each piece of paper, write the purpose of the sigil so as to remember/restate your intent when making them.

Prepare the essential oil mixture. Combine three drops of each of the above essential oils in a small glass vial, and seal the vial. This mixture is for clarity and focus.

Open the bag. First, place each crystal inside. Channel your energy into them. As you set each crystal inside of the bag, fill them with your intent and remember what each one is meant to do. The crystals do not have to be placed in any specific order. Do what feels right for you.

Next, place within the bag the watch/stopwatch. This watch will represent your ability to keep track of and utilize your testing time limits.

Add each of the sigils into the bag, in a way similar to that of the crystals. Remember what each sigil is there to do as you place them inside the bag.

Add the vial of essential oils.

Finally, add the key. This key is the representation of you, the witch and the test-taker, in the spell. It also symbolizes your ability to unlock and achieve your goals.

Close the bag firmly.

Make sure to keep this bag with you while you take the test, preferably in your pant or jacket pocket. I find it best to keep it in a jacket pocket, near the center of your body.

The bag can only be opened once the test is finished, at which point the spell is no longer in use. Crystals should be cleansed and recharged, as well as the other materials (if you plan on reusing them). Sigils can be torn up and recycled.

If you look in the new planeswalker decks, you’ll see planeswalker-specific spells that tutor for their card of choice and are named after the ‘walker themself. And in all kinds of sets, you see things like Chandra’s Outrage, In Garruk’s Wake, Jace’s Ingenuity. Planeswalkers and their spells are closely connected. And aren’t you a planeswalker yourself?

Design a spell based around YOU, the creator, as a planeswalker! You can use an OC, name, persona, whatever you feel is appropriate. Entries will be judged based on mechanical distinction and their connection to your values as represented in the spell and flavor.

As usual, winners will be announced on Friday.

Apple Delight Spell 🍎✨🍁

This isn’t a how-to so I didn’t include steps or measurements. I just wanted to share a little peek into my weekly magic routine and maybe give some inspiration and tips! The intent behind this bath is to cleanse and absorb. Expel the negative into the water I will drain, and soak up the good from the ingredients I add.

Bath salts (Epsom salts, organic rose petals, juniper berries, and lavender) are charging in a crystal circle of clear quartz and rose quartz, I have a grapefruit, dried apple rings, and lemon peel to add to the bath as well as lavender infused cashew milk I made myself for a good soak. There will be candles and incense as usual. Trying to incorporate more deities into my worship baths instead of just Loki. I need energy from other sources as well.

Juniper Berries -  Skaði (power, winter, and I relate Juniper berries to cooking wild game.)

Rose quartz and petals - Freyja (self-love and care)

Sandalwood Incense - Also Freyja (the more powerful side of her. She is of love but also war so I wanted to channel both of these parts of her mightiness cause boy do I need it.)

Apples -  Iðunn (trying to care for my body and retain my youth. A girl gotta look fresh, right? Nah I just spent my 20′s not caring for my body and it shows with aching joints and wrinkly hands and bald spots. I just wanna care for myself.)

Grapefruit and Lemon - I just like them lol I change these out often for whatever I have on hand or is aesthetically pleasing at the time. I tend to stick to citris fruits though. Blood orange, clementines and limes are also good.

Cashew milk w/ lavender - Good for the skin! Also, I am just a slut for Lavender... 

Weed to smoke, Sweets to eat - Loki. I relate Loki to indulging in my desires and embracing the chaos of my life, riding the wave if you will. I fought long and hard to remove the chaos to only have it push back harder. Learning to let go and come what will is working much better for me.... weed helps lol.

Things I wanted to add but couldn’t afford or find:

Fresh cranberries, tea tree oil blend safe for skin and oatmeal. The oatmeal is cheap and easy to find I just forgot till I got home from shopping lmao.

NOTES:

Everything selected for this bath was from organic, non-pesticide sources. Don’t bathe in flower petals/make floral water from floral shops or places that use pesticides. You can buy rose water at groceries stores in small bottles to add to your bath if you want a good replacement or from herbal shops if you have a fav online/in person. 

Also, use organic fruits for baths since I mostly use the skins to not waste too much fruit on a bath. So I eat the goodies and bathe in its rind.

Powdered whole milk tends to be the top suggestion for milk baths because of the fat content and the lactic acid, but I have a lactose allergy so chose the most convenient replacement for myself. You can also use almond milk, goat milk, wheat milk or whatever you got on hand. 

My measurements are never exact. For fruit it’s usually one whole fruit for each used, for the milk it was 2cups, for the herbs, etc it was whatever I felt like at the time. A pinch to a handful of each depending on how high it was on my likes or how much of its properties I needed to channel.

I use a strainer to clean out the chunks of herbs, petals, etc from the tub before draining it so I don’t clog my drains, which I then rinse and toss in the compost.

I shower quickly after this bath because bits stick to me and I feel like the milk leaves a film, plus it cleans all the bits that are tiny enough to go down the drain.

Use your old match sticks in spells!

I never knew what to do if I used a match once to light a few candles / incense, but I always kept the wood. I now use those sticks in spells! This is just what I like to do:

✨ Light a candle using a match, blow the match out and cleanse it in the candle smoke

✨ Focus my intention on something negative I want to change in my life into the match stick

✨ Once the match stick is full of negative energy I break it in half with the intention of banishing that negativity from my life

✨ Light the pieces of wood on fire and let them burn out (in a fire safe bowl). Watch your negative energy go up in smoke and feel it being completely released from your body

i just got done with my lammas ritual and it was so amazing i want to share it.

so i'm in my hometown for the week which means i'm away from my altar and a lot of the things i would normally want to use so i had to get creative. i went down to the river by my house, one i used to play in as a child, and i got such happy energies from it that i decided to my ritual there. i started off meditating under a tree, listening to the bugs, wind, water, feeling the sun, really connecting with all the elements. then i walked and sat in the river itself for a long time. i carried a citrine crystal with me. along the way i picked up garbage to throw away as a way of thanking the river for letting me do my spell and for protecting me. after an hour of walking and meditating in the water i returned to the bank and created a pentacle on the sand with rocks i gathered. then i sat down to do my spell. i cast a spell for abundance in mental and physical strength and asked the river to help me as it had helped me in my childhood. i took a small stone fhat i blessed so that i could take the river's energy with me (with permission from the river of course) and finished up my spell and ritual with meditation with amethyst and citrine.

I posted this spell awhile back as well so here’s the breakdown if you want to do it yourself! *Always get consent from both parties if you want this jar spell to protect both people’s emotions. I did mine just for me*

Ingredients:

- Egg shell powder

- Crushed and full rose petals

- Salt

- Bay leaves

- Lemon balm

- Amethyst

- Rose quartz

- Rhodochrosite

- Seashell

Procedure:

1. Layer the salt, herbs, rose petals, and egg shell powder

2. Place the amethyst, rose quartz, and rhodochrosite 

3. Finally, place the shell on top

4. Seal the jar with a kiss
