Is it ok to ship psych and dream 😞
You don’t need to ask me for shipping approval dw!-but yeah totally they have interesting dynamics.
The issue is both of them live in pretty separate worlds and go on arcs apart but the most important things to them are intertwined.
For example both atrophy and palette are incredibly important to both psych and dream- atrophy I don’t have to explain because I never shut up about him. But palette actually becomes very very close to psych much later on in the story.
So that would almost give it a “palette arranges a marriage between his godly bio dad and some basement freak” sorta vibe..
They also litrally are (or I guess will be) the most extreme polar opposites on the religious spectrum in nightwatch.
One thing they both have in common is at a young age they were forced to veiw themselves as objects for others. Dream as an object for creators, creation, and people- Psych as an object for medicine and the hospital. Both are very stubborn and rigid in their veiws and also are distressed and pained with their status.
Both have very traditional hierarchical views on others and both put themselves (or are put) at the bottom of it almost for a greater internal duty.
Dreams issue in romance and relationships in general is he is constantly ready to die for them because they are mortal and he is disposable. He also wants his partner to dictate who and what he is. Psych is.. the exact same? Psych also is an immortal so they would almost be at a stand still of “I’ll protect you” because.. well they don’t need to
And when you nullify and scrape that wall of self destruction and paranoia for protection-underneath it they are both underdeveloped people who have no concept of who or what they are. (Psych has no clue about his gender, his personality, his goals and wants in life- Dream hasn’t been given the time to think about his sex, gender, or personality.) so putting them together would be very introspective but also very vulnerable as a relationship
Istg if you call this relationship peam. Peam…
It’s just the worst name ever that’s my only complaint
