had what might be my most seattle experience to date today. was checking out an older white couple. the wife was lovely and helped bag and chatted, but the husband just sort of, looked at me throughout. we finish up and i hand the receipt to the husband and he looks down at my badge and then makes sustained eye contact and says "[Bobe], thank you for being here today. i loved sharing this space with you." and klaxons start firing in my head and i go "yeah! have a good one :)" and they start walking away. while I'm still processing this, i hear the wife say of the customer ahead of them, who was clearly on a munchie run (respect), "god he's such a druggie moron. he tried to go out a closed door" and before i can say anything the husband goes "honey we've been over this. they're a druggie moron you don't know what pronouns they use"
