For dinner, we had boneless spicy red snapper and stir-fry Pea Shoots (豆苗) with minced pork, prawns and mushrooms. Also on the dish is the leftover soya sauce chicken from the afternoon.
In case you are keen to know more about Dou Miao (豆苗), the pea shoots shown is called 大豆苗 (large dou miao) or the tender growing tips of edible mature pea plant. Then there is also 小豆苗 (small dou miao) which is actually pea sprouts. Between the two, the large leaf shoots is much more expensive than the sprouts of the pea plant because it is harder to harvest them and they are more tender and juicy.
