@scygnius I wonder what it must've been like.. Being a Frenchman in the 19th century. For impressionist painting and impressionist composing to match up so seamlessly, there must've been a shared underlying emotion washing through all of French society. Somber and melancholic, yet at peace and even hopeful.
@norah-yasmindawoodiclavera6464 you put your whole debussy into this playlist

‘almost all elephants react to music in a visible way. there’s a sudden movement when the music begins. the elephants are free to walk about around the piano, they are not chained or tethered in any way. if they didn’t like the music, then they could simply wander off’. ‘some elephants get very close to the piano of their own accord. they might drape their trunk over the piano even. some hold their trunk in their mouth when listening, some start to sway with the rhythm of the music. some younger elephants can get very surprised by the sound and will run suddenly around the piano, curious about it.’ Paul Barton

Beethoven “Moonlight Sonata” for Old Elephant
“Mongkol is a 61-year-old former logging elephant. His captive-held life was spent hauling trees in the Thai forest. His body shape is deformed through hard labor, he lost his right eye and tusk in this brutal logging practice. Mongkol was rescued and brought to Elephants World to spend the rest of his days relaxing peacefully in freedom by the River Kwai. I discovered Mongkol is an extremely gentle, sensitive elephant who enjoys music, especially this slow movement by Beethoven which I play to him occasionally in the day and night.” - Paul Barton
beautiful...
"Moon River" on Piano for Old Bull Elephant
Here’s a video from pianist Paul Barton’s YouTube channel, & in this particular video he’s playing “Moon River” by Henry Mancini from the movie Breakfast At Tiffany’s for an old bull packy named Mongkol. I think he really enjoys it!
