Oh bro, you have no idea how much I love drawing this man.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but Tinman and Fyter are, so to speak, my first attempts at creating… automatons, robotic beings, living suits of armor? I think you know what I mean. I love stepping out of my comfort zone and practicing a lot with these figures

Anyway, I swear, as far as his design goes… It’s funny. Obviously, I had to base him on Nick, and then bring him to life. I had a rough idea of the oven design like Nick’s, but I was determined to have him wear a soldier’s uniform no matter what.

I found that thing at a hardware store months ago and said… Yeah.

Sooo, a little Pinterest here, a little of a nutcracker and toy soldiers there, listening to “Imitadora” by Romeo Santos to draw with passion, and for the sword…

My brain was saying:

“Put him an arm-sword.”

"Why?”

“1. Maybe a nod to that missing meat arm mentioned in the book.

2. Like a toy soldier, whose limbs are so close together—or whose fingers are so close together—that they seem fused to his body.

3. ‘Feel the aura'"

"Ok, you’ve convinced me."
