Another song from Coldplay I included in my ‘Illustrated Lyrics’ project was “Princess of China”.

This may be a controversial pick for some Coldplay fans, but I wanted to add a bit of Asian influence into the project. I wanted the songs in this project to have a connection, and I feel this song kept to a similar theme to the rest of them. The splashes of colour were also an homage to the ‘Mylo Xyloto’ cover; originally I wanted them to be softer and much more subtle, but this approach kept to the experimentation as seen in the other pieces. So nothing personal this piece was done to keep things consistent. 

I’ve noticed whenever Coldplay collaborate with a female RnB artist, they apply an eastern influence to their sound.

A coloured drawing in-which I had two characters conjoined together. These Elizabethan people hay have contrasting personalities and colours, but they still have a connection that draws them closer. I had a yin/yang concept with this product.

A character design I’ve meaning to upload for a long time, but I never bothered to post anything on this site at the time. Anyway this guy’s design was based on berries and pre-mature flower buds.

“Broken Toy’ was the last Keane song to be used in my ‘Illustrated Lyrics project. 

This is supposed to be a toy solider with parts missing (ala The Steadfast Tin Solider); The original concept was to show more old-fashioned broken toys in a row, but it was decided I would better off using one toy. I also wanted to make this piece a woodcut print, as to work with a different medium. Maybe if I went with my original intention, it could have been better, or maybe it wouldn’t have. But hopefully, I’ve learnt to compromise with other ideas and how to develop my ideas.
