Jeremy Frey, “Caesura” (2023),

Jeremy Frey is a seventh-generation basket maker who harvests and prepares all his own materials from Maine's forests.

Caesura represents his recent foray into "non-basket" media, using ancestral techniques to explore formal issues of optics and space.

"Flare 40" by Studio Douze Degrés,

Flare is a lighting collection developed by Douze Degrés as part of its research on optics. Inspired by maritime lighthouses, it transforms a simple flame into a luminous signal.

Using an optical lens, the candlelight is captured, amplified, and projected—turning a soft glow into a vibrant beam.

The story of Flare began with an exploration of the visual distortion created by the Fresnel lens. Experimented during a scenography project at 3,600 meters altitude, for a live show at the Sphinx Observatory for Cercle Music.

Meet Optic! Optic is a Hero in a city I made up called East Lake City. Optic has been a hero for a long time and has developed a very no-nonsense attitude. She gives small-time villains and criminals very little room to breathe. In her youth, she let a former friend rise to power as a villain the guilt still eats at her.

Her ability is precognition (think Spider-Sense)
