The corridor was a cold slab of steel, its walls humming with the faint hiss of ventilation. Outside, the city’s neon bleed seeped through the cracks, painting the floor in a sickly glow. The operative moved like a shadow, every step measured, every breath a quiet drum against the silence. In the dim glow of a single emergency light, a small vial lay on a tray. The pill inside was no larger than a grain of sand, its matte surface reflecting the flicker of the bulb. The operative’s fingers, steady but trembling, gripped the vial. A metal clamp clanged softly as the pill slid into a tiny, custom‑made capsule. He swallowed, the pill slipping into his throat with the slowness of a ritual. Behind the action, a distant siren wheezed, a reminder of the world outside that he was still alive, still in the game. His eyes flicked to the monitor, the screen's amber glow casting long shadows across his face. The timer ticked down, each second a drumbeat in his ears. The pill, a silent promise, began to work its quiet magic. The operative exhaled, the tension in his chest easing just enough for one fleeting moment before the next wave of danger surged in.

Josefina’s three love interests are named Alejandro, Augustine, and Apolo, respectively, so 😭 . Well, Augustine was a fling who she kind of hated, but their relationship is kind of significant since she’s the first person Josefina really used/ manipulated romantically.
