Happy, in all honesty, has never been very happy. Much like the other Dwarves, his time as a foster kid had been less than ideal. He dealt with poor living conditions, never getting enough to eat but worse than that, he dealt with neglect. It seemed to him that nobody really cared about him which he thought made sense, he was an orphan wasn’t he? Why should anyone care. His life began to change a little when he moved in with the Dwarves and became a part of their family. He expected that the sadness would go away but it just didn’t, it seemed to be getting worse.

Hank always smiled, no matter what he went through, no matter what he felt deep down. He thought if he kept smiling, he would one day feel happy, it hasn’t worked yet but people seem to have been fooled by his mask, including his family. As a child, people always felt close to Happy since he seemed so happy, in truth, he has never once made an honest connection with anyone. He knows he should be honest with himself and the people around him but how could he possibly to that? He was Happy after all, people depended on him to be the happy influence in all things. If he keeps this up, he knows he’ll fall apart but they way he sees it, he has no choice but to see how long he’ll last.

Yukihime: He admires Yuki and how honestly happy she is, he wants to be more like her and tries to channel her at all times.

If there is a dirt trail leading from the front of the Pukwudgie house to the back of it, then the odds are Chloe Fay is doing some strange preparation for the Annual House Games. Hunters be damned if they are going to stop this spitfire from competing. Chloe is set on bringing home the trophy and the bragging rights. The thing is, every year, Pukwudgie is written off as the soft team that can’t make the cut. Chloe is determined to prove them wrong. She’s going to win it for her house. Or die trying.

But she might end up dying alone. All the training in the world won’t do her any good if she can’t get a teammate. The games need two competitors. With an entire house set on losing, who is going to help her now? Will she be able to find someone to step up, get dirty and fight for the House Games Cup with her?

Kenai’s parents were purebloods, or so he was told, both getting by on technicality and neither having any real kind of social standing or power. His father’s mother warned him about seeking success in that world, but he didn’t listen and took his wife and family, diving headlong into the belly of the beast, lasting only a brief time before they were lost. His parents were both killed by hunters shortly after he was born, leaving him to be raised by his brother Sitka and to a lesser extent, his brother Denahi back with the grandmother in Alaska. Kenai had no memories of his mother and father but he missed them dearly while still holding onto a lot of optimism about his situation. He got along well with his brothers, working and playing hard as he got better at magic.

The summer before he went off to Ilvermorny for the first time he was supposed to get his totem, a tradition his wizarding community took part in. Eager to get to the ceremony, he failed to properly secure a basket of fish he and his brother had caught earlier that day. During the ceremony it was revealed that his totem was the bear of love and at the same time, a bear had gotten into the fish that was caught. Disappointed and frustrated by the results of the ceremony he ran after the bear, determined to kill it to get revenge. In the process, out on the ice, his life was in mortal peril and his brother Sitka sacrificed his life to save him. His brother died and so did the bear, leaving a small cub alone in the woods to fend for itself.

Kenai is plagued with a lot of guilt and a lot of resentments. He resents the bear that killed his brother and became his totem, he resents the hunters who killed his parents but most of all he resents himself. He resents the fact that for a man with the totem of love, he has so much hate. He knows that he’d kill a bear if he ever saw one again and he knows he’d do the same to a hunter. He keeps these feelings hidden beneath playfulness and mild aloofness but it is only a matter of time before they drive him to do something truly regrettable that he can never take back.

Vegan Store Owner

Pumba was never considered to be very bright, he was always a little chubby and a little slow. He was never a brilliant flyer, so he couldn’t even use his size to be a decent beater. None of that really mattered to him though, because if there was one thing that the guy wasn’t lacking in, it was heart, and he had faith in that. He got very good at herbology and some kids started to take advantage of that. They had him help them grow certain illegal plants and, eventually, he was caught. He met with a social worker by the name of Timon Merecat who helped him in the process of using his skills to open a vegan store in Greylock’s landing. Pumba was always a proud vegan and wanted to help others experience the life style as well. Within a few months, the store was a huge hit and a few months later, he found himself living with his social worker.

When Timon brought Simba home he knew right away that he was totally and completely invested in the kid’s happiness. He started the process to become an animagus with great enthusiasm, he was even excited to discover that his form was that of a boar. What hasn’t been so exciting is that someone has been vandalizing his store for the past few weeks. He thinks that it’s the people who had him growing the plants but he doesn’t want to say until he knows more…

Magic Social worker

Timon has always subscribed to the motto of “Hakuna Matata”, it means no worries. He grew up in a large, busy family with a mother and father who loved him, even if they had a hard time remembering to pay attention. It wasn’t their fault, there was just so many siblings and aunts and uncles and the grandparents. He didn’t resent them for it much; instead he grew up fiercely independent and with a knack for noticing what others didn’t. Tim attended Ilvermorny, he graduated and got a job with the ministry as a social worker where he developed a reputation for being one of the best. It was through this job that he came across Simba, a boy from Africa that no one wanted to foster because he was a werelion. Timon did the only thing he could do, took the boy in and together with his room mate, Pumba Bore; they formed a weird kind of family.

In order to best take care of the boy, he went through the long, arduous process to become an animagus. He hoped that he would be something practical, like a bird, instead he was a merecat, which he found annoying. Of course a Merecat would be a merecat. He’s getting older, and he wants to retire; but with the stress and pressure that Simba is under, he wonders if he even can.

Healing Specialization

As a young boy, David Kawena knew he was special. He was born on the island of Hawaii to a family of traditional Hawaiian Dance Performers. He learned that he didn't need a flame to ignite the sticks used in his favorite performance. He was able to do it all on his own with just a touch and a thought. He kept the trick he could to to himself until a letter came via a nene and he was invited to study magic at a Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizards.

Due to David’s talent for pyromagic, he learned quickly that he would also need to be versed in at least the basics of magical healing. Little did he know, he'd be good at it. Actually, everyone was surprised because David wasn't very good at anything else.

David is getting closer and closer to finishing school. He'll be able to go on and become something more than the dim island guy. He has the opportunity to become a healer. The problem lies in his family ties. His parents need him to return and perform with them since he was so adept (barring setting any roofs on fire) in the traditional dances. David loves his culture and his people but does he give up a potential future helping and saving lives in order to perform with his family?

Tiana was never a princess. She grew up in the poor end of New Orleans with a very loving mother and father. Her mother was a seamstress, and her father was in the military, but he was also an aspiring chef. His love of cooking made her love cooking; she loved the way that his cooking brought people together, connected people, and helped them overcome adversity in their hearts and in their lives. Her father was such a nurturing, strong force in her life and suddenly, just like that, he was gone. He was killed while on duty overseas, and she was left alone with her mother without much help.

Her father may have been gone physically, but he never really left her. She carried him in her heart, along with his dream of opening a restaurant. She wanted her job to bring people together and make people happy. Things were temporarily derailed when she got her acceptance to Ilvermorny, “You’re damn right my little girl’s magic,” said her mother, but Tia was terrified that this might get in the way of her dream. When she went to school though, she found that there was a lot she could learn there to make her restaurant a success.

It didn’t take her long to come to the conclusion that the best path for her was to specialize in magical cuisine, so she threw herself right into it. She worked very hard at school and got an apprenticeship cooking in a Greylock’s landing restaurant. During the summers she went home and worked to help her mother get by. She worked and worked so much that she didn’t notice that she was suddenly an adult. Tiana has never been to a dance, never fallen in love. and never really relaxed and had fun. She doesn’t think she needs too; but, lately, the pressure has been building, and she’s worrying more and more that she won’t achieve her dreams. Will she ever learn to relax and take things slower? Will she ever open up and have fun with friends? Only time will tell…

Potions Professor

FC: Todrick Hall

This flamboyant professor is 50% sass and 50% charm. They're easily the most loved Professor at Ilvermorny. Their teaching methods are less than conventional as they wear their pet boa for most of the day but the students fight for the front row seats every day.

Manon grew up in the Deep South and was no stranger to discrimination and bigotry. When they were a young boy, a white family moved in next door and they had a son about his age. Kids at school picked on the little boy for living in the “black” neighborhood. Manon didn’t mind the boy was white. All they cared about was whether or not he enjoyed hopscotch. One afternoon, the two young boys were playing outside and a group of teenagers came by and started picking on the boy from next door. Manon stood up against the teens and ended up losing the eyesight in their left eye.

After the incident, Manon made it their goal to help the little guy no matter what the color of their skin or anything else for that matter. As a teacher, they makes it a point to treat the students equally and not hold any bias to their blood status. But sometimes it’s hard to do as such. Will he be able to keep the bias out of his decisions and his classroom?
