Important to note: Steve Yockey has said several times that Dead Boy Detectives is like the Hardy Boys on acid. They tried to maintain the very psychedelic and colorful aspect of the comics, whilst also working with darker shades.
The lighting is said to be a mix of blues and purples, but it is also a play on the four main colors of the heroes: Edwin (blue), Charles (red), Crystal (purple) and Niko (pink).
