#Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 WISCONSIN BEER ALERT 🚨 Ohhhhhh boy I checked something off of my beer bucket list yesterday 😍 Included in my fabulous MN beer mail from @pennyforyourpints and @eatminnesota was a particular Wisconsin brewery that I’ve been dying to try. And after all these years, it finally happened. This is #moonman, a thirst quenching Pale Ale from the one and only @newglarusbrewing 🙌🏽 I first got a lil taste of New Glarus a couple years ago when I was visiting a brewery who shall remain nameless to protect the beertender who ran to the back and grabbed his/her own bottle of a New Glarus sour to let me try a snootful 😬 I was in love. It was then that I vowed to one day try a full bottle of theirs. Well, yesterday was that day 😊 This was a lean, mean, clean, dream of a Pale Ale with awesome spicy hop character that translated to a subtle peppery finish on the back end, while having all the crispness and floral notes on the front. Oof 🤤 I reallyyyyy tried to savor this thing y’all but I was overcome by its amazing crushable-ness. It was STUPID hot yesterday. Like above 90’s hot. IN APRIL 😒 Hence why the dad bod was out and about whilst soaking up this beer in our new pool. I can’t lie, subsequent “drinking in this pool” posts are definitely going start happening more 🏊 Best thing we’ve bought so far. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 NORCAL HOMEBREW ALERT 🚨 Once again @cringeworthy_homebrew has me convinced he’s some sort of bearded wizard when it comes to homebrewing 🧙‍♂️This is his oak-aged #barleywine and I am intrigued with this for multiple reasons. FIRST, I want to know how he was able to get that buttery oak barrel mouthfeel in here, BECAUSE IT’S IN HERE 🤤 Along with rich caramelized malt notes, crisp green apple subtleties, and a heavy sweetness that is sure fire proof that this thing may be packing some serious ABV 😬 Second, he made this thing taste like a trueeee Barleywine, which I feel is a very difficult thing to do for a home brewer. You have inspired some new ideas for my future brews man! Another killer beer! Got to see some family, fired up the old BBQ, and got to enjoy good food and good vibes with our loved ones ❤️ I sipped on a couple different brews but THIS one takes the CAKE (wait for it 😬) This is is #blackforrest , an absolutely BONKERS Pastry Sour from @invasivespeciesbrewing and @trippinganimalsbrewing 🤤 In my 3 years of logging and keeping track of beers, this has to be one of the most creative, brilliant, and DELICIOUS Sours I’ve ever had in my life. There’s Vanilla, Chocolate, Cherry, and Lactose all packed into this bottle at it legit tastes JUST LIKE Black Forrest Gateaux (there’s the cake reference coming full circle 🎂) Beautifully RICH chocolate and cherry notes are found throughout with a nice, mellow sweetness to balance the sour tartness at the end. Once again, I’m convinced that another brewery is using literal cake for their brew. That’s the ONLY way they could nail this flavor so perfectly 🤔 There had to be some of these cakes that were dumped into the brite tank. Or maybe you did a nice little dry hopping with them, which I guess would be be dry caking... 🤷🏾‍♂️ Well, whatever you did PLEASE DO IT AGAIN. This place continues to be one of my top Florida breweries 😍 Also, I need to apologize for mean mugging the camera in the first pic. Y’all know I suffer from A.S.S. (Awkward Selfie Syndrome) and NO ONE would help make me laugh to get a candid smile so that’s the result 😒 Luckily this amazing Sour made it all better. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 NORTH CAROLINA BEER ALERT 🚨 ONCE AGAIN... @brewedinbuffalo coming through with that good good 🤤 What you’re viewing right now is the sweet, gentle caress of a man who’s found what is now one of his most favorite imperial stouts EVER ❤️ This is #yucatan , an Imperial Stout ... wait for it ... AGED WITH ... here it comes ... PEPPERS, VANILLA BEAN, and CINNAMON STICKS 😱 The folks from @highbranchbeer out in #concord , NC reallyyy outdid themselves with this one. This imperial adventure of the mouth starts off with the sweet notes of vanilla and that tell tale chocolate character from all of that roasty malty goodness 🍫 But what’s this?? As you let it marinate and mingle with all those taste buds in ya mouf you get the subtle heat from the peppers that slowly builds into a warm lil ball of fire that rests itself comfortably in the back of your throat. Basically, imagine a lil vanilla bean caterpillar crawling around your mouth and building itself a chili pepper based chrysalis to sleep in for a few minutes. Then it breaks out with chocolate wings a-flutter and bits of that pepper cocoon going all over. THAT’S WHAT THIS IS 😍 It may have been pouring when I took this pic but I didn’t care. I had the warmth of that little firey butterfly keeping me nice and toasty on the inside. Suchhhh awesome depth to this thing. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 FLORIDA BEER ALERT 🚨 Coming at ya with yet another Crithpy Boiiiiii 🤤 This is #factczech , a stupidly tasty dry hopped Pilsner from @copperpointbrewingcompany 😍 Yet another beer from my buddy Chris aka @brewedinbuffalo that he absolutely came in clutch with! The Saphir used to dry hop this thing really plays a game with your tastebuds 👅 It’s super floral and tropical on the nose which almost lends the same tastes once you start sipping away. I couldn’t tell if those notes were REALLY there or not on the palate but it didn’t matter because at it’s core it’s still a SUPER SOLID Pils. With a body so lean and amazingly crisssssssp throughout, Crispin Glover himself almost sued it because his name and likeness was being used without his consent 😬 And you know I had to wear that #craftbeer2020 shirt too 🙌🏽 Since I got this beer from a good beer buddy I decided to put it in a dope glass from another good beer buddy. Shoutout to @brewshoundllc and all of his awesome merch! Both of these guys are all around great dudes and are creating some amazing stuff so be sure to check them out! This is #catalinabreeze , a west coast IPA from @milewidebeer 🏄‍♀️ Suuuuuch a good balance of hop bitterness and tropical notes. With that in mind, it’s important for us to compartmentalize and enjoy the little wins when we can 💪🏽 Before my work put the kebash on my travel for the next month, I got to head to Florida last week and see some awesome buddies. One of them was Chris from @brewedinbuffalo and we traded some beers together. This is one of said beers 😬 This is #trippingpoint , a collab DIPA from @copperpointbrewingcompany and @trippinganimalsbrewing 🙌🏽 Just like there’s double the amount of India in this Pale Ale, I had double the amount of stoked-ness in my brain because I didn’t get make it Tripping Animals during my visit 😩 Luckily, Chris had my back 😏 This beer was toooo smooth. Carrying notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and a whole lot of hop character, it was way too easy to finish 🤤 They could’ve put all those shrooms from the label in it and I still would’ve crushed it 🤷🏾‍♂️ Also - peep that shirt 👀 With the 2020 elections in full swing, there are two candidates you can always put your trust in - Craft/Beer 2020 🙌🏽😉 Yet another dope piece of merch from Chris.
