Without a doubt the craziest argument against the US switching to metric is “imperial is what we’re used to, it’ll confuse everyone” like you are just telling on yourselves and calling yourselves stupid, because (almost) every other country changed and forced a couple generations to just get used to it. We’re all better off for it. Not to mention, many countries use bits of both if you really feel so inclined (I think that’s hellish, but whatever). As an aside, imperial is also a very icky name for your system of measurement.
