hello, I was wondering how did you use the energy saving thing on your blog? I think it's awesome and would like to have it as well
boom~
Saving Energy with Online Leaf
So I found this cool thing. It's a bit of jQuery provided by Online Leaf that puts your web page into a low-energy state after a certain period of inactivity. We forget that, even when we're not looking at that tab full of cat gifs, it's still running in the background. Online Leaf's code pauses these processes and covers the page with a dark screen, which uses less energy.
The code is configurable to many languages as well as to whatever period of inactivity you desire. Although I couldn't find any reference on the site as to when the code activates, examining the code shows that it makes the screen dark after 60 seconds of inactivity. For anyone that wants to look at a nice, clean version of the code, you can find that here. It's actually quite simple.
Online Leaf tells you how to link to and configure this code here. Just copy/paste it right into the head of your theme. Easy.
Just another way to do your part.

Enery Saving Mode
Every minute a thousand visitors spend browsing a website an average of about 1.2kg of CO2 is emitted into our atmosphere. Having a energy saving mode for your blog is a good and easy way to reduce websites' CO2 emissions. The campaign OnlineLeaf.com is a CO2 neutral website, neutralizing our CO2 footprints and making the use of our engines, as environmentally friendly as possible. The idea is that a lot of small improvements make a large impact if they are spread out on a large enough number of websites, which will hopefully make the web less of a burden to the environment.
Help the environment by making your website green !
Copy and paste this code between <head> and </head>
And this code under <head>
Save & Close , you're done ! (:

Hi guys! So I'm making my tumblr more green and I hope you'll do too! Online Leaf lets your tumblr go into screen saver mode if the laptop is idle for a while. Even better, changing the background of your tumblr to a darker colour saves even more energy! Now I'm off to use Blackle~
So! Everyone that follows me should help the environment out :) It doesn't cost anything!
Post this under your <head> tag in your HTML script for your blog. <script language=”javascript” type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.onlineleaf.com/savetheenvironment.js”></script> It creates an energy saving screensaver for your blog, so whenever someone is browsing your page and becomes inactive for 60 seconds, the screensaver pops up. My internet is capped at the moment and I'm having trouble activating it, but everyone should be lovely and add this to their blog :) Imagine how you can help the environment out just by doing this one thing. <3
i think that everyone should have the energy saving shield on their tumblr . i mean like , save the earth . wait what ? yeah , well . do it . onlineleaf.com , tricks . :3
