Onlineleaf is a website which offers an easy to add standby program for websites and blogs.
The standby program runs on a timer, so that when someone is viewing your blog, after a certain amount of time of inactivity on the site it automatically covers your blog in a darkened screen, reducing the amount of energy needed to maintain the colours on the page, as well as freezing any animation (such as posts full of GIFs). By doing this, it reduces the strain on your power supply, effectively saving energy. To get rid of the standby screen, all you have to do is run your mouse over the page.
It is super easy to get too! All you have to do for a tumblr blog is to go into the customise menu of your blog, open the 'edit html' option and copy and paste the small html code off the website just after the word <head> (it's usually not too far down from the top).
You can do this for any website of which you are able to edit the html for, and there is also a plugin you can download to add it to WordPress.
