So, this week, we have The Olllam. We are going in a much different musical direction today. The Olllam, which consists of members John McSherry (pipes, whistles), Tyler Duncan (pipes, whistles, rhodes) and Michael Shimmin (drums).

This is a nice continuation from last week's post about Vulfpeck. Vulfpeck's bassist, Joe Dart, is also the bassist in The Olllam. I recently tweeted @joedartbass and told him directly, "You are my favorite bassist." The thing I love about Twitter is that one can actually communicate with one's idols. You can actually have a conversation with someone you would have never been able to reach in a pre-Twitter world.

The Ollam is cool because it blends a ton of different styles including post-rock, jazz and traditional celtic sounds. I think that this is some really interesting music an a welcome change of pace for bassist Joe Dart.

Dart and the rest of Vulfpeck are from Ann Arbor, Michigan--so is Tyler Duncan. They must put something in the water up there because all of the music I've heard from Ann Arbor lately has been awesome. I can't wait to see who music comes out of that city next.

This is a pretty short post, I don't have much to say about these guys, except for that I would love to see them live. I think that would be an experience. I can't decide if it would be a sit down or standing concert?
