Smooth Fun Fact #1402: On 9/20/21, while at work, Smooth randomly thought of an old customer with whom he had conducted a fair amount of business at his former employment location. (Bonus Fun Fact: Not having seen his client in years, Smooth jotted his name down in his personal cell phone’s “notes” section because their initial interaction might make a good subject for a future Fun Fact. Extra Bonus Fun Fact: Not five minutes later, Smooth’s long absent, recently remembered, home improvement patron walked up to his desk and requested assistance.)
I had plans on writing tonight - I honestly did. That was until I had bad news given to me tonight.
I learned tonight that one of the customers I had at the one on Montana and Hawkins passed away a few weeks ago from cancer.
A regular told me today and my heart sank. He used to work with my former boss, Carmen, and he would always tell me to find a way out of that store.
I saw him once prior during that time I worked graveyard at the old store. He looked so good and we talked for about twenty minutes that one night.
I just wish I had a chance to see him once more. He was a great friend and he always made my days working at the old store great. I never had a chance to thank him for pushing me out of that store and out of Carmen's hands.
