โXavier, come with us and bring your cousin along, sheโll be a great addition.โ
โSo much for watching Pulp Fiction.โ
...
Her boots clicked along the wooden floors, her torch shining in each and every room they passed, the only thing that caught her eye were the cobwebs and dust floating in the air.
Damn this place needs a good cleanโฆand a window open.
โHey check this out.โ
Y/n made her way to the curly haired boy and peered over his shoulder.
The two wore the same dumbfounded look, torch lights flashed into the room revealing a sight none would have guessed retired in the old abandoned manor.
โ Looks like aโฆโ
He paused sparing a look to the young girl, her eyes trained on the objects inside, the gears in her head kicking into overdrive.
โLittle girlโs room.โ
Y/n finished stepping foot into the room, the torch light engulfing the room in a white light, enough to get a clear view of the information inside.
โItโs a littleโฆya know, creepy.โ
She decided to ignore his light hearted comment, they were only here to gather information not spare small talk. She didnโt like the boy that much, considering their past.
The memory flashed before her eyes, there stood a five-year-old Y/n and Mrs Galpin, the little girl followed the older woman into the kitchen waiting anxiously for the news she was about to receive.
Placing the young Y/n on the counter, she pulled a small gift from behind her back. The older woman watched the excitement build in the young girlโs eyes.
โOh wow, aunty Francie, is this for me?โ
Chuckling at her words she nodded, โYes it is my little phoenix. Itโs a very special gift for a very special little girl.โ
Placing the perfectly wrapped box in her little palms, she opened the lid to reveal a golden necklace, a red rose embroidered into the centre of the locket.
โWowโฆpretty.โ Her little gasp not going unnoticed.
"Now, Y/n. This gift was given to me by my older brother, and now I'm giving it to you...But you have to promise me something little phoenix. Can you do that?"
The young child nodded her head happily, "yes, I promise.โ
"I want you to promise me that you'll look after Tyler for me. No matter what he does. No who he becomes, Y/n. Can you promise me that, Y/n?"
A whine left the young girlโs lips, โDo I have to, aunty Francie? Tylerโs not nice to me.โ
Francoise, cupped little Y/n smiling at her, โI know my little phoenix, give him time, trust me. Youโll be surprised whatโs underneath all that boyish mind.โ
"Okay Aunty Francie, for you."
Francoise Galpinโs words echoed through the h/cโs mind. A promise she intended to keep till the day she died.
Her cousin Xavier warned her about him when they were younger, the funny thing was she already knew.
Even though their mothers were childhood friends, the two children did their best pretending to like each other.
She had been assigned to tutor him, the boy was failing in English and History, his father was desperate, nobody wanted to tutor the troublemaker sheriff's son.
He went to his last resort, the neighbourโs daughter, Y/n. An excellent empathic clairvoyantโฆsorry I mean student.
When he first came around Y/n was alone with her cousin Xavier, the two had been mid way through Xavierโs plan for the Outrage day display. Papers of countless sketches scattered along the table as the two conclude the best design.
Past
Each displayed a different emotion, Xavier asked his cousin to read them, and find what emotion they gave off.
The young girl was a strong empath and clairvoyant, being from his motherโs side of the family it all made sense.
โSoโฆuhโฆhave you heard from Jordan?โ
Her cousinโs question hung in the silent house, flipping through the scattered papers along the table, she shook her head.
โNo, not since the incident.โ
The boy hummed, nodding along with her comment.
He knew she was hiding something, an internal debate steering through the aura of the house. It was strong, she was strong.
Pros of both parents being strong empaths and telepaths. The clairvoyance her own ability developed for her and her only.
โUh Xavier?โ
โYeah?โ
The boy watched his cousin fiddle through his drawings, admiring the fine penmanship of his work.
โYou remember how I used to have dreams of that weird scientist man, right?โ Her eyes found his, and he nodded.
โWell theyโve started up againโฆ ever sinceโฆ Tylerโs mumโฆpassed.โ
Coming around the corner he carefully examined his cousin, as a child she used to complain about these strange dreams about a young man in a laboratory.
Concocting God knows what.
Threatening her, taunting her, whispering in her ear at the dead of night.
โIโll be coming for you soon my dear Y/n. If not today, then tomorrow. Someday.โ
โAndโฆnowโฆnow she tries to warn me, I donโt know what about, or who about but it scares me XavierโฆI hate it.โ
He heard her desperate cries, trying his best to come up with an answer, observing her, his eyes fell to the necklace resting comfortably on her chest.
The pendant twiddling between her fingers as she desperately waited for an answer, for truth, for something.
โIt all started when you got that necklace? The nightmares, the sleep walking to the cemetery, the whispers?โ
Y/n nodded along to each question he asked, โYeah they did.โ
โAnd who exactly gifted it to you, Y/n?โ
โFranciose Galpin, Tylerโs mum. For my fifth birthday party.โ
โHmm, and all this has been playing up again since her death?โ
She nodded again.
โYepโฆsorry letโs get back to more important things.โ
Knowing she wouldnโt take no for an answer he followed her disposition and went back to what they were originally doing.
Smiling at her cousin, the h/c girlโs nail lightly trailed down one of the scribbles, blinking back the burning sensation in her eyes.
Xavier came from behind her and propped down another piece of paper, โHow โbout this one.โ
Her nose wrinkled, eyes still closed, she shook her head before mumbling.
โHas no heart to it.โ
Taking in her comment Xavier stood up and tapped his chin.
These were all the finished ones, he was debating about showing the latest one he was currently working on.
Casting his eyes to his backpack, โHold that thought.โ
Hearing her cousinโs words, she slowly peeked an eye open to his crouch form.
โAnd no peeking Y/n.โ
Cursing his sensitive senses, she stuck her tongue out and closed her eyes once more.
Stepping around her he placed the parchment down under her palm.
โOkay, uh, this one isnโt finished yetโฆโ
Her gasp cut off the dirty blonde, his cousinโs eyes were swimming behind her lids, she had found something.
โDanger! Danger is among us, she will bring forth the terror hidden within the boyโฆ motherโฆ notโฆโ
The young girl began gasping for air, her head snapped back and eyes flew open. Xavierโs panic grew, gripping her hand he ripped off the page.
The last time he had seen her do this was during her sixth birthday party, their grandmotherโs funeral and with Jordan.
โY/N!โ
The two collapsed to the floor, she inhaled a big breath grasping her cousinโs shirt.
โCreate it!โ
His protests went silent as the door bell rang, she shared a look with Xavier, getting off the floor, she went to grab the poker from the fireplace as he grabbed the small shovel.
โAre you expecting company?โ
She shot him a look, and he got his answer. She held a finger to her lips, silencing her cousin.
They could hardly make out the outline of the figure, noting it was definitely a man.
Prying the door open, the sheriff was met with two teens holding weapons in a manner of action.
โWoah, woah calm down.โ
Sighing Y/n and Xavier dropped their weapons to the floor.
โHow can I help you Sheriff Galpin? Has Elvis gone missing again?โ
The man shook his head, his light blue eyes squinted behind the young girl.
โBoyfriend?โ
Turning slightly she let out a little chuckle, โNo sir. Cousin actually.โ
Humming in amusement, he politely gestured for her to step outside.
โI apologise for scaring you dear.โ
Her hand waved him off slightly, โNo need for apologies sir.โ
Noting her words he continued, โI need to ask you a favourโฆโ
She ceased her movements, her e/c eyes examining his features, she didnโt dare to pry into the sheriffโs past, that happened once when he came to apologise for Tylerโs behaviours when they were children.
Ten years agoย
He pushed the poor girl off her bike. Her palms and knees grazed the asphalt, scraping the soft childโs skin.
Her chin collided with the hard ground, chipping her baby tooth in process, his laughter echoed behind her, drummed in her ear.
She couldnโt let this defeat her, the stinging sensation burned but she didnโt care she needed to show her guts, continuing to push herself up, blood pooling the concrete.
She stood tall, wiping her cheeks dry, the fresh blood smearing her pink cheeks.
The boy's laughter died down, she stood in front of him, eyes red raw, lip pouted in frustration.
Bringing her fist back, she brought it forward with all her might, knocking him straight in the nose and dropping to the ground with a thud.
Calls from behind the two grew as both childrenโs mothers came flying out of nowhere, shame the two best friends watched their children despise each other.
The girlโs father, Salvatore, loved it.
How his daughter didnโt take shit from anyone.
From the far window he watched the scene play out and celebrated the K.O.
โY/n?โ
โTyler, oh hunny are you okay?โ
His mother held her boy gently, his groans concerning her every minute.
โY/n, what happened here?โ
Her motherโs voice was stern and threatening to take a look into her mind if she didnโt tell the truth.
โWell..โ Y/n began, before another voice came to the rescue, her father.
โA bunch of dumb kids came and shoved Y/n to the groundโฆTyler here, saved my little flowerโฆDidnโt you, boy?โ Salvatore smiled, eyes glowing.
Tyler nodded, crawling further into his mothers breast.
โฆ
Blue eyes desperate, she offered the older man a smile.
โSo, what can I do for you sir?โ
โฆ
โHe asked you what?โ
Seated across from her cousin, she took in his movements, yapping away about how intolerable Tyler had been over the years to now.
Rolling her eyes, she tipped her head to the side.
โI knowโฆI know Xavierโฆโ
His hand rested on his temple, taking a deep breath he gathered himself.
โThat โhot shotโ wanna be, bullied me, and gave you hellโฆand is now treating you even worse.โ
Y/n shot up from her seat ready to defend her neighbour, but Xavier was right even after everything that happened with his mum doesnโt excuse his actions.
โEspecially after his mother died.โ
He slumped back into the nearby chair, opening the window for some fresh air.
The arguing from the house next to them, ceased their conversation.
Sharing a look the cousins moved closer to the window, watching the scene play out in front of their very eyes.
Mr Galpin had a resting hand on his forehead, shaking his head ever so slightly not noticing that his window was wide open.
โTyler, it's for your own goodโฆโ
The teen in question, finally appeared in the kitchen, seething at his father.
โHas he gotten taller, or is it just me?โ Xavier's voice whispered in her ear, slapping him upside the head, Y/n shot him a look.
โI am not letting her fucking tutor meโฆshe a fucking freak! A disease."
Snapping his eyes towards his son, Donivan Galpin shoved him into the nearby wall, nose to nose.
โDonโt you speak to me like that. You think she wants to waste her time with scum like you?โ
He stared deeply into his fatherโs eyes, anger and disgust rippled through them. His blood began to boil, Donvian never spoke to him like this, not even when he caught Tyler in the act of mischief.
Ever since his mother passed, something within the two changed, separated them.
No longer a father and son relationship, coated with love, only vexation and resentment.
โSheโs only doing this for me, her mother and your mother.โ
Shoving his dad off of him, Tyler walked off.
โKeep that attitude up and Iโll send your ungrateful ass to military school.โ
Present
Her fingertips brushed delicately along the bookshelf, scanning all the first edition collections of Edgar Ellen Poe novels.
She hummed in amusement, carefully picking one of the hard cover books she gently sat on the floor and opened the dusty book to a random page.
Inhaling deeply she rested her left palm on top of the yellow stained pages, and began channeling the connections from above and beyond.
โI donโt think you should be touching that Y/n.โ
His torch light flashes in her sensitive eyes, blinding her in the process.
Raising a hand to shield her eyes, she sighed, shooting him a knowing look.
โTyler, I am a clairvoyant. Which means I have to touch stuff, whether or not I like it.โ
Her voice fell silent as she regained her position, eyes closing, clearing her thoughts to nothingness, as she focused on the energy within the book.
โRight, I guess I forgot.โ He mumbled, rolling his eyes.
An image of a young girl with orange hair filled her sight, black square glasses, hazel eyes.
Tyler watched as the young woman took her spot on the ground again and began her thing.
Which led to him trying to find something to distract himself so he wouldnโt stare down a certain clairvoyant, he would never admit but he always felt a connection to the girl.
Shoving it off as a silly hormonal phase, but things only grew stronger during his tutoring lessons.
He saw her in a new light, the glow behind her every time their eyes met, made her seem like an angel, and when she would speak, she sounded so pure and hypnotizing.
During one of his tutoring sessions they had been preparing for their English exam, the night before - coz who studies weeks in advance.
Past
She paced up and down the kitchen, phone pressed to her ear as she listened, agreeing along with what was being said.
โYes I know Jordan.โ
Pausing her movements she made eye contact with the boy at the table, mouth slightly open, she shot him a fake smile.
โIโฆwould you let me talkโฆthank youโฆone more year babe and Iโll be set for college.โ
He practically hears the disapproval in his voice.
โY/n I donโt want you tutoring him, Xavier doesnโt want you to do this either. Thatโs more than enough to drop him and focus on yourselfโฆon us.โ
The frustration on her face grew deeper, sighing she leaned against the sink, resting her head on her palm.
โI need the money, with my job at the bookshop and thisโฆItโll be enough for us to get a place and goโฆyesโฆyesโฆof course, but youโll have to sit in the lounge until Iโm done babeโฆuh huhโฆI love you too, see you soon.โ
The thought of seeing his old mate made his stomach turn.
โPlease donโt tell me that dick is coming over?โ
Sighing she pushed forward off the sink and met his gaze, nodding.
โYes that โdickโ is coming. Play nice and I might let you go home early.โ
Tyler grew frustrated with the note taking for an essay, noting down useless information about the three topics, only one being on the exam.
His hands slammed on the table losing every strand of patience he had, ready to flip the table in anger, when she chimed in.
โIf you flip my table over youโre paying for it.โ
Rage filled eyes turned in her direction, the h/c position comfortably as she jotted down one last sentence before turning to him.
โAnd if you fail this exam, your father will take matters into his own hands.โ
How she had been right, a week later he had been shipped off to military school, after the stunt he pulled at Outrage Day ceremony, jeopardising the growth of their potential friendship.
Present
A scream echoed through the halls, throwing the young clairvoyant off track. Peeling her eyes open, the dark dusty room was empty, no Tyler, no whispers, nothing.
Shaking it off Y/n regained her composure and began channeling again, closing her eyes she took a breath.
Flashes consumed her sight, panic faces, misty white smoke swallowed her mid section, eyeless people breathed down her neck.
โBestia intus eum vocat te. Tu es ille. Ille est tu.โ
(The beast inside him, calls you. You are him. He is You.)
Enidโs and Xavierโs screams snapped the young girl out of her reading.
โWEDNESDAY!!!โ
Booming steps vibrated the floor, beneath her, heading straight toward the h/c girl.
โShit, shit, shit.โ
Panic rushed through her blood, she couldnโt get to her feet fast enough.
The creak of the wardrobe door swung open, waiting for her to jump in, slamming the door shut.
She switched off her torch and waited.
Growls, and heavy breathing plagued her surroundings. Itโs thundering steps prying closer to the wardrobe, daring to give her hiding spot away.
The shadow loomed over the tiny opening of the wardrobe and peered in, huffs of air blew from its mouth, this was smart, too smart for her liking. Its bulge eye caught her hidden form and growled.
Y/n saw that it swung its arm back ready to strike, in efforts to shield herself she pushed back further into the wardrobe and fell through a little opening.
Groaning, she placed a steady hand on the creaking misshaped wooden floor and pushed herself up.
Hidden relics sat above on timber planks. A little music box caught her attention.
She examined it carefully and holding it up she noticed an engraving on the bottom.
โLaurel Gates?โ
Opening the box it began to play an angelic melody, capturing the attention of the being outside, the growl shook her to the core and caused her weight to snap the timer below her.
Dropping through the planks the girl fell through walls of Gates Manor, breaking through countless timber planks holding the foundations with the place.
Crashing through the little opening at the bottom she lay face down on the stone cold floor of the dark cellar.
The scent of freshly drawn blood and rotting flesh stuffed her nose, the sting sensation along her body indicated where the blood smell came from, the other, unknown.
Blinking rapidly she slowly regained her awareness, a groan left her lips, rubbing her head a knowing sting filtered through her head.
Dizzy and sore she began searching the cool tiles for her only source of light.
Her torch.
Moving her ankle she felt something cold like metal rub against it, โfound it.โ
Flicking the light on, Y/n felt something lurking in the far corner of the basement.
Shifting her gaze behind her she quieted her breaths and listened, a low growl rumbled through the dark area, and in that moment she knew her life was at stake.
A slow calloused step came from the shadows, a choked sob threatened to spill through her trembling lips.
No, she cried.
Her breathing became ragged and hysteric, from above Wednesday and Enid poked their heads out shining their torches down at her.
Ready to call out Y/n silenced them by placing a finger to her lips.
The girls got the drift from the growls echoing below them.
Crawling further into the little area Y/n began praying, desperate for someone or something to save her.
Prying her eyes open she watched in fear as the creatures elongated claws wrapped around the opening of the broken wall.
Peering its ugly head into the small opening, hollers and shouts from within the manor echoed through the thin walls, diverting its attention from the frightened girl.
Retracting from the small enclosure it made a bee line out the basement.
Leaving Y/n to grasp her mental state, the screams and frantic footsteps in the distance gathered her the tiniest will to crawl out the opening.
Stepping out she was met with the silence again, every noise in the manor disappeared in the dead of night.
Her shaky hands flicked on the torch and shined it around the cellar, and in the far left hand corner laid a fresh pile of blood, a figure standing above it.
A ragged breath caught in her throat as she tried her best to calm her nerves. The head snapped up and stared directly at her before it rushed forward slamming her into a nearby wall.
โTHIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! HE WAS LET INTO YOUR LIFE! AND YOU LEFT ME TO DROWN!โ
His cold hands wrapped around her throat, sealing off her source of oxygen.
His black hair damp, green eyes now shined red, skin ice cold. She knew this wasn't him, but something about it felt real.
Clawing at his hands her vision began to cloud, โPlease, Jordan...I'm sorry... I didn't know.โ
โBestia intus eum vocat te. Tu es ille. Ille est tu.โ
(The beast inside him, calls you. You are him. He is You.)
He whispered into her face like a cold breeze and in a blink of an eye he was gone, rubbing her eyes, she took in her surroundings.
Y/n was no longer in the Gates cellar, but a bedroom.
People surrounded the room struggling to contain the person laying down in the bed. Her heartbeat began to pick up with each step she took. The closer the louder it became.
Painful and lost.
Shivers ran up her body as the memory played out, the hissing and growling apprised her worst fears from her past. Standing at the foot of the bed, she watched the pure chaos unfold.
The hissing died into sobs, Francisoe Galpin laid restrained to the bed.
Opening her green eyes, she sobbed harder, โHelp me, Jacinta! Help my baby. Please.โ
A deafening wail ripped through the girls lungs as the scene brought itself to life.
Somewhere within the Gates Manor Tyler came out his hiding spot and waited until the coast was clear.
Closing the door behind him, his hearing picked up on the faint wailing coming from inside the manor.
Rushing back upstairs to where he left y/n, he prayed she hadnโt been hurt or worse killed.
Peering in he was met with darkness, to sign of a living soul here, only the book laid flat against the floor.
โShit.โ
The screaming echoed louder within the room, drawing the young boy to the dusty wardrobe.
Moving quickly, Tyler found himself peering down an empty slot.
Broken by body weight, he made out the faint sound and light coming from below.
Descending down the cellar stairs, the sight in front of him terrified his insides to their core.
Y/n stood in the middle of the floor, head tilted upward facing the ceiling.
โY/n!โ
He rushed over to the girl, grasping her shoulders as he tried to shake out of this chilling state.
Her eyes rolled back further into her skull.
โY/n?โ
โAunty Francie? NoโฆOhโฆmy GOD. MUM! GetโฆGET AWAY FROM ME!โ she cried, her hands crawling up his arms, her nails gripping into them.
โY/n?โ
She began trembling in his arms, sobs escaping her lips, โI canโtโฆnoโฆNOโฆ Stay backโฆI SAID STAY BACKโฆNoโฆsheโs going to hurt meโฆIsaacโฆNightโฆis going toโฆโ
Tylerโs brows furrowed, he needed to get her out of here now.
โWho Y/n? Whoโs going to hurt you?โ
Her struggles grew more restless as she thrashed in his strong hold. Her head snapped to eye level with his, eyes clouded.
Her stare cold as icy, chilling to the core, her voice grumbled as she stared into his eyes.
Her lips turned upward, sinister and evil, her chest hummed as she answered him.
โTu! Nos omnes laesuras es.โ She hissed.
(You! You are going to hurt us all.)
โHey Y/n, come back to me. Itโs me Tyler.โ
The poor boy was frightened out of his wits, never in his life had he experienced something as bone chilling as this.
But what happened next, almost made him piss himself.
Gripping his chin, Y/n pulled him close to her, nails piercing his skin.
Her eyes became black as death, but her voice, oh how her voice taunted his conscious state.
โTsk, tsk, tsk. Y/nโs not here right now, Tyler.โ The entity chackled, drawing blood from his chin, as it pulled him close to the girlโs lips.
โYou reek of sexual desire for this girl! Ha, who'd thought the Hyde bloodline carried on through you. And you donโt even know itโฆ come on boy do it, kiss me.โ
He felt so tempted but this wasnโt Y/n, shaking his head he turned away.
โOh well, Iโll see you soon my dear nephewโฆ all in due time HydeโฆOh andโฆโ Her lips pressed close to his ear, her breath hot on his skin. โ... your mother says hi.โ
Dumbfounded, he gaped at the male voice leaving her lips.
What the fuck! How the fuck!
โTyler! Did you find Y/n?โ Wednesdayโs stoic voice called from above.
โAh, yeahโฆ I did!โ
Moaning Y/n collapsed into the boyโs arms, mumbling, as he held her close.
Staring down at the weak girl in his arms he tried his best to sum up what had just happened.
But he couldn't, there was no logical explanation for this.
Her delicate fingers danced along his cheek down to his jaw, a pout toying at her lips.
Her finger nails brushed down his neck and to the scratch marks along his chest.
โJordan, what happened to your chin?โ she breathed, falling unconscious.
Picking up her bridal style, Tyler couldnโt help but wonder about her words, her movements, everything. And more importantly, Isaac Night and his mother.
The ride back to his place was going to be an interesting one, filled with unanswered questions.
The trio waited outside for the missing links to arrive.
Walking out with Y/n in his arms, Enid clasped a hand over her mouth as she squealed in excitement seeing Tyler carry Y/n to them.
Following the blonde's gaze, Xavier fell ill at the sight.
โWhat the hell Galpin? What did you do to her?โ
Shifting his gaze toward the Thorpe boy, he kept on walking, not daring to spare another glance at the group.
The stale look on his face didnโt shift.
โAbout time, useful hours are being wasted.โ
All heads turned to the Addams girl, none of them would have been here frightened to the core, if it wasnโt for her.
Xavier didnโt mean to drag his cousin along but when the trio stopped by his dorm room.
Wednesday persuading them to come to her party at Tylerโs house, they couldnโt give her an answer to refuse.
Y/n could, but her cousinโs friend Enid, jabbed her with a pleading look.
Tyler opened the passengerโs side door and placed the girl in carefully, the sudden movement caused her to stir in her sleep.
Slamming the door shut, he finally acknowledged the group.
โGet in the car, now.โ
Wednesday stayed silent, examining the situation at hand, she needed answers and Y/n was the only one who was close enough to get them.
Past Weather never cafe
Wednesday patiently tapped her mug, waiting for the arrival of Xavier Thorpe and Y/n Vandette, the psychic and the clairvoyant.
Tyler anxiously smiled her way, she knew the three had a history between them, one, neither of them spoke about.
The ring of the bell and the bickering that followed announced the cousinsโ arrival.
โI donโt want to be dragged into this.โ
โY/n, just hear her outโฆthatโs all I ask.โ
Spotting Wednesday, Y/n sent the Addams girl a wary look, following her cousin they continued bickering.
โFineโฆyou have got to be kidding me.โ
Y/n words were cut short by the sight in front of her.
Tyler Galpin seated across from Wednesday leaving room for either her or Xavier, and Y/n knew Xavier wouldnโt dare sit next to the normie boy.ย
Removing himself from the seat, he gestured to Y/n to sit.
Praying Xavier was going to follow suit she did, sliding in she made herself comfy.ย
Averting her attention out the window, droplets of rain trickled down the cold glass distracting her from the world behind her.
Feeling the cushion next her dip, she faced the group, only to find Xavier next to Wednesday.
Dear God, no.
Shooting her cousin a seething glare, she scooted closer to the window and as far away from the Galpin boy as possible.
Wednesday finally amused with having everyoneโs attention slammed on a dusty book on the table.
โNathaniel Faulkner's diaryโ
โWhat the hell is that?โ Xavier uttered.
โThis,โ Wednesday answered flipping the book open, โis the diary of Nathaniel Faulkner. The man that studied, the Hyde, and where our answers will beโฆhopefully.โ
Tyler and Y/n sat quiet as the Addams girl, explained what knowledge she knew of the book and the Hyde.
That the beast needed a master in order to survive.
โSo whoever is controlling Hyde. Is the one responsible for the murders occurring around Jericho.โ
The girlโs sentence struck, Y/n. This made no sense, why had Wednesday needed her here.
She practically had no strings attached to the case. But if Xavier said she was an asset, then she might as well give the morbid girl what she wanted and then be off with her life.
โWhich is where you come into the picture, Y/n. You have the ability to see vision, when in contact with your skin right?โ
Y/n didnโt want to answer her, casting a look to her cousin, he nodded to her.
โYes.โ
Sliding the book over to her hands.
โTouch it.โ
โWednesday itโs not that easy, I just canโtโฆโ Images of a man flashed before her eyes, blurry yet rigged.
Pilgrim.
Scarecrow like features, and another.
His eyes grew enlarged, as they stared at another.
โCome on sweety do it for mama.โ
Growls echoed in her ears, as the figure fell to the ground gasping in pain, she watched in horror as they grew.
Snapping its glare toward her another flash flew past her eyes Tyler, chained to a wall panting heavily.
Images of nevermore on fire, played, chaos being created by three figures.
Wednesday, saving the day.
The trio stared at the girl, her head flew back, as she began mumbling in Latin.
โHic nobiscum sedet. Iuxta me.โ
(He sits here with us. Next to me.)
Squinting Wednesday reached over to pull the book away, before she could Y/n gripped her hand squeezing it as they both descended into a pit of chaos.
Wednesdayโs life flashed before Y/nโs eyes, along with the girlโs family history.
A vision clouded Wednesday eyes, Y/n stood in front of her, choking Marilyn Thornhill along with two other figures next to her with an invisible force.
Gasping both girls fell into the seat behind them, catching their breaths as they came to.
Wednesday shoved Xavierโs hand off her shoulder, โIโm fine.โ
Across from them Tyler mimicked Xavierโs actions, โY/n!?โ
But Y/n was quick to her feet.
The trio watched as the young clairvoyant climbed over the love seat, and ran out the door, leaving the three behind.
โFuck that.โ
Present
Ever since that day in the cafe, Wednesday knew the young clairvoyant harbored a powerful gene within her, that one day would make her indestructible.
The car ride to the Galpin'sโ was one to remember, and some things are just better left in the dark.ย
