Sometimes I’m like “I’m probably as kind as the average person” and then I go to pick up groceries for a friend (one of those park and pick up sort of deals) and an employee with a cast on their hand rolls out the cart. So obviously, I get out of the car to help them and I’m like “is everything on the cart mine?” and they have the “oh for the love of god what did I do this time” look that I have when someone’s passive aggressively implying that I fucked up their food at my job, and I’m like “no no nothing’s wrong! I just wanted to help you put the stuff in the trunk and I didn’t want to take someone else’s groceries by accident.” And they genuinely looks fucking surprised that I wanted to help them. They said nobody does that.
This isn’t a “oughhh I’m just so KIND and LOVING” post I’m actually kind of pissed about it. Why are we not helping people out. That should be the bare minimum!!!!! Help people out!!!!! I am not kind enough to be an exception to the rule!!!!!!!! HELP PEOPLE OUT!!!!!!!!!!
