c!tubbo is a character who continuously blames himself (and gets blamed) for just abt everything and he has a permanent reminder of his biggest “failure”. his hands hurt and it’s a reminder to what he couldn’t do, he looks in the mirror and it’s a reminder he let down wilbur, he applies burn cream and knows he was too obvious. didn’t hide his emotions well enough, talked too much, didn’t make enough eye contact, went off without explanation too much.

he wakes up from nightmares where techno is not the villain. schlatt is not the tyrant. tubbo is. tubbo points the crossbow at himself, he aims, he pulls the trigger and it’s all him. he stares at himself and techno’s words ring out but it’s his voice. schlatt’s laughter fills the air but it’s not quite his, it sounds like tubbo’s own. he’s bleeding and the crowd is all him. there is no begging niki, no horrified fundy, no screaming tommy.

his own face stares back at him. some of them have scars, some are younger, older, have different outfits, scars and frowns. they’re all him bc he’s not allowed to blame anyone else! tubbo forgave techno, he did not feel a pang when tommy ran off with him when ranboo talks of this warrior. tubbo does not clench his hands when schlatt’s name gets brought up. he does not deserve to. tubbo doesn’t get to be angry, cry, have his own emotions.

there will be a time techno comes up again and he will not side with him. bc of how he wronged l’manburg, tommy. there will be no other reason and tubbo will pretend that is the truth. no one brings it up, they stare at his scars as if he is a monster and he is. his horns curl and he thinks of schlatt. pink and white scars wrap around his body and he thinks of failure, of forgiveness, of dirty crimson bandages.
