- Mark is obviously very upset at the thought of Roger dying, but doesn’t want to show it too much. He just wants to make as many memories as he can with him, and wants him to at least have fun and be surrounded by people who love him before he goes. So now I’m starting to see more of final-version-Rent Mark poke through.

- I kinda love how we get to see Mark’s personality and know a bit more about him. In the final version, we don’t really know a lot about Mark because he’s basically narrating (which is fine) until Roger calls him out before he leaves for Santa Fe

Before, in the final version, I felt sorry for him because I could only imagine how scary it was for him to be the “one of us to survive” but at the same time he literally came from Scarsdale. Like sir you come from a rich neighborhood, have parents that seem to care about you and you’re out here claiming to be a struggling artist? At least you can just move back upstate when it gets too rough, the others can’t. However at the same time I wondered if maybe his family were toxic and controlling; but in this one I know a bit more about the backstory

I feel like Renée Elise Goldsberry’s Mimi acted ghostly during LMC too and Daphne’s was more desperate but fiery? I’ve always loved both portrayals of it, but it’s interesting to see the changes. I think because this version is significantly slower and feels almost deathly is the reason why she sounds like this

- I’ve always loved how Benny’s voice sounds (at least when Taye Diggs, Rodney Hicks, and Jared Bedgood sing it) when he sings “a bright a charming girl like you…a fallacy in your head) but this just missed the mark imo :/
