Hey! Tbh ik nothing about linguistics but maybe you'll find interesting that there was no standard Slovak for a long time, the first attempt came in 1787, based on the western Slovak dialect. Then there were people who supported Czechoslovak unity and said Slovaks should speak Biblical Czech. Anyway the Slovak language we speak now (with a lot of reforms ofc) was codified only in 1843 based on the dialect of central Slovakia.
So essentially it was just one language in the beginning, and a dialect of “Czechoslovak” ended up being Slovak of today, yes? Thank you for the information! God, I love Slavic languages
