You don't draw androids often. But when you do, they turn out really good.
Why is that? (Just out of curiosity, ofc. I like how you draw them, ofc)
First of all: rude!!! (idk I think it's my autism brain tagging the first line as being mad at me not your fault lol)
Mainly of all: So I was expecting this to be a shorter post but as I wanted to go more and more into my process, it ended up getting longer and longer.
I drew a couple robits to help illustrate my point and I'll put them here without context just in case people don't want to read the full long post (which will be under the cut below them)
1) Familiarity
The main reason why I don't draw much androids (or many different characters in general) is that I'm not a huge game player/show watcher/book reader/media consumer so I don't have a large catalogue of characters I'm familiar with, and much less of those are robots that fill the criteria below so I end up not drawing them much
2) Ideas
At this point, I've kinda gotten tired of doing solo pieces of just "hey look it's this character but standing :)
I wanna be able to draw them doing something (typically mundane Ordinary Life type stuff), preferably with others, but coming up with ideas is extremely difficult for me unfortunately. I used to be able to bounce off of friends to make up for my lack of creativity, but I've lost a lot of them at this point so that's not an option lol
There's also the fact that I've been trying to work on long-term projects more (extremely slowly because my brain is shit) so I don't really have time set aside for drawing one-off things as much
3) Design Malleability
I don't know if this makes sense, but the biggest hurdle is how malleable a design is for me to add stuff onto.
First, I have to show off my general design process for robits (which I hope will improve over time so I can be more recognizable over other artists)
But specifically talking about the character designs, they strike the perfect balance of complexity for me. They're simple enough where I can add my own bits without taking away the recognizability of the character whilst allowing me to add my own twist (?) to it.
The art styles of the original are close enough to my own as well where I don't feel weird drawing them in my own. Or in the case of the voca/utau/fanloids, they're not tied to a specific art style which is even better.
The first problem though comes with designs that extremely simple. At that point, I feel like if I Delatoid Robotify them, I end up taking away from the appeal of the original design.
In the case of more Western properties like MLATR or with Futurama robots (not androids but sshhh), the original art styles are way too different from mine and I struggle to find a good middle ground
On the other end are designs that are too complex. Just like Spore, if the complexity meter is maxed out, I'm not able to add more to it. If I do, it ends up making the design extremely busy and there's be no place for the eyes to rest, so it ends up being a mess.
I have Cell there for the complexity part, ofc (fuck those spots), but as I say in the image, he's part of a smaller group of "robots that don't look like robots" where Delatoid Robotifying them just ends up making it look like "hey look at this character but a Robot :)" fanart and I can't really draw them in other situations without the fact that they're suddenly super robotic being a focal point (which I don't want).
Anyway long-winded ramble just to say my brain poopy :L
Wait I almost forgot
4) My ADHD makes it hard as hell to draw and I hate that!!!!

Do you want revenge on Valentino? I might’ve known that you were refusing to cope, and you were lashing out at the staff and new residents, wrecking the bar, and clawing the walls, desperately screaming out to Angel.
mm obviously I want revenge on that fucking aswhole. but idk know what your walking about about lashing out and shit I would never plus al would kill me if I tried..mm also I'm over angel he made his choice..
Rules: In a new post, show the last three lines you wrote or the last thing you drew, and tag as many people as you feel like!

I’m curious on if you think/what your thoughts are on if Caine is 100% evil now that tadc ended and we have more lore
Honestly nothing that happened in this episode changes my previous opinions on Caine, I do not believe he is totally super duper evil nor do I believe that was ever the intention.
HOWEVER, since we're talking about Caine right now:
God, look, I know I said before that I wanted him to come back and be given a proper chance by the end of the show, but this was NOT the way to do it!
He was deleted yet survived with zero actual explanation, (unless the empty bubble next to him was supposed to imply something? If it was, it wasn't conveyed at ALL what it means) sat in the void for a while, saw a door in the distance and scrambled towards it with parallels being mixed in of his lore from ep 8 where he first found the brain files, got to said door which...
Leads to access to...Wi-Fi? From a nearby cafe? What?
He then pulls out the real names of the human cast with again, no explanation as to why he actually has them on hand let alone why he kept them from everyone, searches their names and finds social media accounts that somehow are specifically the very people in the circus conveniently (again. what?????)
And he...learns about humanity I guess? From 5 minutes of scrolling social media posts??? He talks like browsing the accounts made him realize "Ohhh, keeping them under my control all the time...was a bad thing" like the only way he could've realized that was if he HAD to go online and look up humans to understand fully what he did wrong.
He does have some hesitation on giving the humans freedom and expresses fear and anger that they'll turn against him again but he doesn't really ponder any further than that, he just becomes fine with the idea because "well they did try to kill me already so whatevs".
So then he...takes the blue ai? Out of his head? And lets it go into the void??
I was under the impression that the blue ai was literally consumed fully and merged with Caine in a desperate attempt to put himself back into the ring, pull himself out of containment and make this world HIS. But this episode says he can just...take it out? Whenever he wanted to? With no real repercussions to his or the systems being? (I know Caine says "I'm not as powerful as I used to be" but it still doesn't actually show or explain what that means? He can still give the cast full access to his world and even keep the worlds opened alongside still being able to spawn NPCS so like what is the actual idea here when he said that???)
His name is Caine, he "killed" Abel...and at the end he took back killing Abel? He said "oh my bad" and revived Abel and sent him on his merry way? What? Doesn't that kinda absolve the fact that Caine fucked over a fellow AI out of sheer desperation to live and exist???? He can just take that back???? This entire time?????? With zero actual consequence???
And then he ends up back in the circus and apologizes to everyone and offers them full control over the circus and everything and...all they had to say was "It's gonna take a while to trust you again but we trust what you're saying right now glad to have you back" WHAT???????????
No discussion about what happened last episode?? About getting proper answers from Caine now that he's back? No push back against the guy who intentional or not TORTURED EVERYONE FOR DAYS???
Like Zooble mentions how "it's gonna take a long time to regain trust in you" as if any of them had trust in Caine to begin with????? They never even gave a shit about him this entire show!!!
No one even THOUGHT about Caine during this episode! Everyone learned they were brain scans and didn't even CONSIDER the idea of "hey if we're just code...are we any different than Caine was? Is that why he lashed out like that?" LIKE WE HAD GUMMIGOO, AN NPC, HAVE AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS AND NO ONE THOUGHT ABOUT HIM ESPECIALLY POMNI???
POMNI DIDNT THINK BACK TO GUMMI AND THEN THOUGHT ABOUT CAINE LIKE "wow okay maybe there WAS something there we missed" but I guess the actual difference all along between the NPCS and human brain scans in this world is how well they handle the concept of being "not real" (seriously they mention they are scans and then...don't talk about it? no existential discussion or implication or ANYTHING?)
Caine showing everyone that powerpoint presentation realistically would've made everyone HATE him more because imagine you just learned you were actually brain scans this entire time and can never go back to the reality and life you once knew. And then the guy who tormented you and never bothered to listen to you comes back with an actual slideshow showcasing how the you outside is actually living their best life and achieving every dream and goal you've been mourning over since the day you got into this circus, I'd throw hands on the spot.
Just...everything about Caine this episode confused the hell out of me, it felt like they were trying to speedrun some kind of development with Caine by just. Giving him access to the internet and making him LITERALLY look up what he couldn't learn on his own for his entire existence.
Except...y'know...he has humans IN his circus. He could ask. Stuff about. Directly. I know he's too stubborn to just talk to them but it's better than him effectively googling the answers at the end.
Caine got a happy ending, yes. I am happy Caine came back and was accepted into the group. But this was NOT satisfying at all to me. I didn't want everyone immediately accepting Caine into the group holding hands and everything at the end. I didn't want Caine to speedrun realizing what he did wrong and jump back into the game like "my bad heres a powerpoint presentation". I didn't want Caine to come back in such a quick and empty way.
And I especially did not want Caine to be converted into "the one who changed" to foil miss "the one who couldn't" Jax.
If having at least one tragedy in place at the end was absolutely needed in this story (which trust me, it isnt if we were gonna end with everyone inside and outside the circus happy and fulfilled ANYWAYS) then I would've rather Caine stayed dead because at least then his character would've ended with more meaning than this.
