The heat wave last year was so intense that it killed off all the lemons on my lemon tree! It was weeks before new ones grew and were ready to be picked.
I remember going to therapy this day and crying, then hours later sitting in the theater and crying some more. Therapy and Mr. Rogers is too much for one day! I recommend the documentary, though. 🙂
I saw some blog post about noyaux and thought it sounded interesting. It’s basically homemade almond extract.
The jam I made from the apricots is so good! I’ve been eating it every morning. I’m going to have to make apricot jam every year now.
Cascade’s Noyaux 2014 (Picked up at Warehouse Liquors in Chicago). A 4 of 4. Like everything Cascade does, this is both great and quite intense. An almost puckering sourness dominates with quite a lot of acid in the body, and a ton of berry and fruity complexity up front. Lots of tannic and dry qualities behind the fruit, and this finishes quite astringent on the palate. Not the easiest to drink a ton of, but great complexity.
