It was really difficult to find a Degas ornament that I liked. It had to be a ballerina and it had to be an artwork located at the Norton Simon Museum. The museum has a large collection, but unfortunately most of those don’t seem to make it on merchandise. I’m happy with my choice though.
This 2019 page is my favorite of the three Thanksgiving baking pages. My kitchen doesn’t look like this, but it WAS raining on this day.

I enjoyed my year at Universal Studios Hollywood. It was nice to wander around Wizarding World of Harry Potter on quiet afternoons. The stairs were good exercise (and always a challenge!). I don’t ride the rides, though, so It was an easy decision not to renew.
On my second thanksgiving baking day, I sugared the cranberries, made cranberry sauce, and made cranberry curd. I went to work on day 1 and day 2 of my thanksgiving baking schedule, but I took day 3 off.
I love the start of Christmas! It’s such a fun time when the lights go up, the decorations come out, and I get to enjoy all things Christmas-y.
I have never seen any birds using this bird house, but it looks cute.
Thanksgiving baking is a serious undertaking! I have to write myself a schedule just to make sure everything gets done.
I enjoyed The Crimes of Grindelwald, but hated the ending. I’m not as invested in this story as I was in the Harry Potter story.
Season 3 of The Crown, though, is my favorite season so far (I haven’t finished season 3).

Long holidays are exhausting! I normally get to bed around 9 p.m., so getting to bed so late after a full day of entertaining can be especially draining.
I like my Christmas ornaments to either be from a vacation or from an important event in my life that year. Starting ballet was a significant event in 2018, so a Degas ornament seemed perfect.
LA has a really cool mill that sells small-batch flours. The mill posted this recipe, and I was excited to try it. It totally blew me away! This was so delicious! I will be making it again before the end of cranberry season.

My Thanksgiving this year was nearly identical to what I wrote about last year’s Thanksgiving.
I have not taken a bath in more than a decade, but a brand new tub called for a bath! I had a lemon bath bomb to try out. I also pulled out this Rubber Ducky. In case you weren’t aware, a lemon bath bomb turns the water yellow. Rubber Ducky happened to float directly over the spot where the bath bomb landed. I’ll let you work out how that looked. 🤣
It’s disappointing when the glue from my washi tape starts to seep through the paper.
When I saw this 2018 entry again, I was amazed at how much baking I did that day! I didn’t just bake the Thanksgiving Day desserts, I also baked scones for breakfast and banana bread for a snack!
Basically all my Christmas Shopping is done online, so writing that I did Christmas shopping isn’t really saying much. 🤣
This is another bowl I actually use when making a dish. For as long as I can remember, the Thanksgiving cranberry sauce goes in this particular ceramic bowl.
I always spend my Wednesday afternoon at the Starbucks around the corner from my ballet studio. This week, I invited a ballet friend to join me. We both got a lot done, then spent some time talking and enjoying each other’s company. It was really nice.
The bowl in the drawing comes from Canada. It includes First Nations art of whales. I think it’s really cool and wanted to include it in my Hobonichi. Also, it’s the bowl I used to soak the cranberries in simple syrup. 🙂
After nearly two months of construction, my bathroom remodel is complete. I was so excited to finally take a shower in my new shower tub! I decided to draw myself as a Loveleemine character.
I got my 2018 Hobonichi at the end of February, so I didn’t fill in all 365 pages. At one point, I had marked some of the important dates in January and February that I had wanted to include. Over the course of the year, I slowly completed those pages.
I was pleasantly surprised by Klaus. The movie starts off a little rough, but when the Santa storyline kicks in, it becomes sweet. The Sami arc is my favorite.

Love Actually is one of my go-to movies. The overall theme of the film is that love comes in lots of different forms. When I’m low, that’s an important message to be reminded of.
I’m really glad that my ballet school decided to add a stretch class. It’s taught by a new teacher who knows a lot about anatomy, so does a great job at explaining proper stretch techniques. She’s also a professional ballerina and a yogi. Her passion for wellness really comes through.
I learned about Earlywood from a blog years ago. I highly recommend the wooden utensils. Over the years, I’ve bought flat sautés, a tasting spoon, a coffee scoop, and a scraper. Last Christmas I got a rolling pin from them.
The customer service is excellent. One flat sauté split, and after a quick email exchange, I was sent a free replacement (see entry above).
I went to the Festival of Holidays at California Adventure. I ate so much good food!
Loveleemine stickers bring me joy. I liked the cute snowbird washi so much, I looked it up to buy a roll for myself. Unfortunately, it is sold out of China and shipping was unrealistic.
I got back from my trip late Thursday night. I spent much of Friday doing laundry and chores. I managed to make some delicious pumpkin bread, though. That helped with the post-vacation blues.
I love my tiny Christmas tree! It is fake, but I wanted one that was strong enough for my mug ornaments. It’s hard to get real trees that will hold that many heavy ornaments. Also, real trees are expensive!
Big Sur is so pretty. Last year when I drove through, it was really foggy. It was nice to be able to ogle at all the stunning views this year.
I absolutely love the giant Paramount Pictures Christmas tree! I get to admire it every time I drive past.
I was really looking forward to seeing the wintering monarch butterflies at the monarch sanctuary. Unfortunately, the population has plummeted over the last decade. I was told there were around 200 butterflies in the sanctuary, but I couldn’t spot them.

Days off of work are so important to my mental health. Work can be stressful, and weekends are often full of chores, so sometimes I need an extra day to do things I love.
Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of my favorite places. When I went in 2018, it was so crowded. This year, though, the crowds were very manageable.
I loved staring at all the graceful jellyfish. Last year I depicted the popular sea otters, but this year it had to be the jellyfish!
My Christmas wrapping is important to me. I haven’t started for this Christmas yet, but I’ve already picked out a theme.
November 11th of this year was the first day of my mini vacation! After a long drive, I made it to Pacific Grove. I managed to take a quick tour of Point Pinos lighthouse, which was a short walk from my hotel.
