“We have your girlfriend.”
Jason stared at the phone, his expression falling into panic every passing second.
“Oh my god.” He whispered into the air, his panic clear in his voice. “OH MY GOD. NO-”
“Yes! We have her right in our palms! You want her alive? Pay up!”
Jason moved around, checking the contents of his jacket and secret spots. “No, no! Don't be stupid!”
“Quick!” He exclaimed. “Tell me that the colour combination of your outfit does not hurt eyes!”
“I-” The voice now melted into pure confusion. “I beg your pardon?!”
“You heard me!” He growled, getting into stealing the batmobile.
“Well- uh, its bright green and purple? I don't think it would hurt eyes-” A scream sounded from the background of the call.
“Oh my fucking god.” He was getting closer to where the tracker pointed. Thank Tim for his pre-prepared Code Pixie plans. “You have got to get out-”
“Look,” The voice grunted as gunshots sounded in the background, “I don't know what you've planned, but- UGH-” The voice sounded pained by every second, “We will take your girlfriend’s life!”
“Me? Lil’ sweet innocent me?” He groaned. “I could never do anything as terrible as the things that are happening around you.” He even sounded disappointed.
“Wait a mi- AUGH-” The voice screamed. “YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS A MONSTER-”
“Ah, shit.” He could see the warehouse now- and was that a fire he saw?! “How many are dead?!”
“Oh, no worries, Jaybird.” A familiar, honey sweet voice chirped. “I didn't kill them. Didn't want you to have to deal with Bruce a third time.”
He sank in the chair, relieved. “Oh god. I love you so much, pixie. I’ll let you continue.” He paused, slightly grinning. “Unless you want help?”
He heard her sigh happily into the phone. “You're the best! I'd love some help.” Now, he was fully grinning. “Kwami knows what these morons had to go through to think bright green and purple were a good combo.” She muttered.
It was going to be a long night.
