I think the worst part about the fact and decision to never get married or have kids is that I'm not gonna be able to participate in traditions that my family basically revolves around. Like, both my grandmothers make things for the grandkids when they get married or engaged, but I'm not ever going to get those things. And the unintentional alienation for not having kids or a partner is already putting me off from interacting with extended family. Obviously, the pressure to build a family of my own is a huge downside, but it's the traditions I'm gonna miss the most. No handmade blankets or dolls or books because the one time I wore a wedding dress was for a performance
