#nitpicking

Stol!tzø, M&M, Chaz/Moxx!e, Chagg!e, Lucil!th (probably), Cherr!snake (not from the start but right after their transition from enemies to allies Pentious' having a crush out of fucking nowhere) - all of them reproduced this pattern to varying degrees.

A funny observation: the more developed the couple is, the more explicit their primary lovey-dovey expressions get.

The exceptions that come to my mind are Ange!Husk (which started out with harassment, how lovely, isn't it?) and Madmaid (the only canon ship that I truly adore, my freaky pookies❤️). Backstories of the remaining couples have been staying unknown.

When I was younger I had these books: “The Nitpicker’s Guide for Classic Trekkers.” The title alone was a play on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so you knew right away not to take it seriously.

Inside these books, every single episode and movie of classic Star Trek was laid out. First with a summary of what happened, then a list of “nitpicks” detailing mistakes or trivia the writer found. These could be anything from simple wardrobe malfunctions, to incorrect turbo-lift numbers, to genuine plot holes.

All of it was done with a tongue in cheek way. You weren’t supposed to take these seriously. The idea that someone would dedicate THIS MUCH TIME to nitpicking a sci-fi TV show was part of the in-joke.

Then something weird happened during the mid 2000’s, and now nitpicking and listing off “sins” for films has become a quantifiable metric people will actually use.

Which is stupid.

Art is subjective. No amount of legitimate continuity errors makes a film automatically good or bad if the positive feelings it creates resonates with you. This is one of the reasons why people love watching “bad” movies.

it isn't a case where you have to jump over hurdles and do olympic races and all that jazz to make the character competent and smart, all they had to do was tweak a few scenes and shit.

for example; the poisonous rose episode. like are you telling me it was THAT hard to make Evangeline go to the back to protect Amalia and write an alternate way for Amalia to get bit since you wanted her to get bit for the filler plot??? like it took me like 5 minutes to come up with an idea for how she could get bit without making Evangeline look completely and utterly incompetent at her job despite her being a trained soldier.

just make one of the things crawl up her leg in the background while the others don't notice cuz they're busy staying still so the roses won't get them. easy peasy lemon squeezy dawg

in addition to that, have them both realize at the same time what they're standing in since Evangelyne has grown up amongst Amalia's people and should know to some extent what they are.

it also makes no sense to me that she didn't know that the doll was connected to Amalia, considering that she is her assigned BODYGUARD, and should know somewhat about her and how her doll and powers work in case of emergency.

oh and for the cherry on top, since I'm already nitpicking and complaining about this episode, why on EARTH would you let the doll get its grimy hands on YOUR bow, that you apparently treasure very much going off of episode 19.

and even if you DON'T treasure it that much, you're still her BODYGUARD. you should have your weapon on hand in case any threats pop up?????

TLDR; TOT is a bitch ass motherfucker and can't write women (or men he doesn't like)

(actually as I was writing this, I also remembered how all of the demigods, excluding Goultard or wtever since tot loves him, have less screen time than Kriss Krass, who has shown up for at MINIMUM one scene without fail in almost every piece of wakfu (and waven, if tgw is waven era and not wakfu era) era media. He literally has his own comic.)

(I love Kriss Krass, mind you, but there is no way that literal demigods, who should be very important to the story, have less screen time than a (albeit beloved) side character.)

The Handmaid's Tale: when June and Moira are trying to escape the Red Center, they mention trying to get into downtown Boston. but the subway station they enter has a sign that says "ARLINGTON" being removed. there IS an Arlington, Massachusetts outside the city- but it doesn't have a subway station. the real Arlington Station is in the middle of the Back Bay...in downtown Boston

The Handmaid's Tale again: Moira and Emily are comparing notes on the gay scene in Boston, and Moira says Emily seems "like a Somerville kind of girl" and mentions her going to Club Cafe in the same breath. Club Cafe, a well-known Boston gay bar, is also in the Back Bay, and Somerville is a suburb north of the city

Also The Handmaid's Tale: there are way too many hyper-modern buildings for that to believably look like the Boston area. I get that they filmed this in Toronto, but they could at least...TRY to make it look like the city it's set in? probably more than half of the buildings here are pre-1920s. June and Luke apparently live in Somerville- they take the Red Line, so I'm guessing around Davis? but their apartment is once again super-modern. most apartments in that area are duplexes built around 1910-1920

Legally Blonde: Brooke apparently has a pool and a pool house while living on Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill is mostly row houses with very little outdoor space- while apparently some do have small and/or indoor pools, it's extremely unlikely for any to also have a pool house. there just isn't any room for it

Also Legally Blonde: that doesn't look like Cambridge. at all. come on, now

Legally Blonde again: 45 Dunster Street (not "Dunston" as they said in the movie), Cambridge, doesn't have a lawn or a long front drive. it's right on the street, with just a bit of sidewalk in front. it's also not a residential house- in 2001, it was the home of the Fly Club, an all-male Harvard social club

I am BEYOND tired of this shit! I was tired of it when it kicked off back in 2015! And I’m beyond tired of it now!
