I wish the subplot about Nina and Olive had actually been about them and maybe made some parallels to the Sage sisters and what they would do for each other instead of Neil and showing Adrian what would happen if he burned himself out on spirit. It would have been okay if Richelle gave Romitri the surprise pregnancy a few years down the line! Nina could have had an arc that wasn't about what Adrian learned from her trauma!
Agree entirely, and am very much exhausted of women being used to advance plot and then immediately being killed off (or in Nina's case, made permanently comatose).
Adrian knew he was powerful. We know Adrian's powerful because we see him master Spirit abilities rapidly, and we see him perform Spirit abilities we didn't know existed (dreamwalking, aura reading, his telekinesis). We also know Adrian himself is aware that Spirit is dangerous, because he quite literally feels the effects of it and has voiced his fear of it. We didn't need Adrian to witness the traumatic demise of another Spirit user just to caution him from using Spirit. It's also a gross end to Nina, since she'd been seen to have a crush on Adrian and then the whole kissing...thing happened. A gross way to discard a character you were done writing for. She did deserve better.
The love Nina had for her sister was very Sage sister-esque. Sad that they were both tossed to the side. It would've been nice to see them all have a happy ending, Neil included. They all could've been reunited and lived together with Declan. Pull an Edward Cullen and say Declan was Neil's nephew that he took in when his brother died in duty.
Also, yeah, I think it was a bit silly that the Romitri surprise pregnancy option wasn't thought of. We know that they are in a sexual relationship because we have seen it twice (SK, LS). I mean, if they make it a regular thing, or even just an occasional thing at certain times, without any protection because why would they when they know for a fact* that they can't get pregnant or get diseases...I mean, that seems like a recipe for disaster. It is likely that they would've had a pregnancy scare before the end of the Bloodlines series. I think that idea should've been better handled.
