Older cousin! Nicky with his foreign exchange student boyfriend Erik and his two kid cousins the Twinyards who absolutely adore Nicky and want to tag along w him all the time- including on any dates he and Erik try to go on. Nicky just offering Erik a sheepish smile each and every time as he says “We could go to the park?” And Erik kisses his cheek and tells him that’s a nice idea and so half an hr later you have two teens and a pair of twins frolicking in the park, Aaron and Andrew having a ball of a time as they play tag and try to mimic Erik’s accent while Nicky sputters out laughter because “You’re actually pretty good at that, Andrew.” Cue Aaron getting huffy and demanding that Nicky compliment him too but then the ice cream truck rolls by & suddenly the game of mimicry doesn’t matter, Erik’s thick German doesn’t matter; all that the twins care about is “Oooh ice cream!” As they should. Nicky holding both their hands while Erik takes up the responsibility of ordering and paying mere quarters for the frozen treats bcs for how wild and loud they can be with people that they know, the Twinyards absolutely clam up and get shy when it comes to talking to any adults they don’t know (also as they should).
Just normal teenager Nicky Hemmick who has a bf he loves and a family that loves him & two wonderful little cousins that never fail to TELL him how much they love him thru the ways that the two want to be his shadow; want to always be either holding his hand or climbing Nicky’s back or even funnier: telling Nicky how “If Erik ever makes you cry, we’ll take care of him, OK?” Cue both of the twins balling up their fists and Andrew shooting Erik a stink eye that is such pure comedic gold it’s absolutely ridiculous. Oh what a sweet little picture they could’ve been.
