i think erik staying with his parents for a bit when nicky moves back could be a good idea, since it would mean they could go on a few dates and so before moving in with each other. on the other hand, they are kind of living together already? it’s erik’s apartment and nicky has left the us to live there because of erik. i also think nicky would be lonely living among all of erik’s things and knowing he could have erik right there, always, like he’s dreamt about for 6 years. maybe it only lasts a day lol

i could definitely see nicky getting cold feet/feeling regret just after having moved to germany and the twins having to step in to assuage him. when nicky works himself up about being so far from the twins or how life with erik isn’t exactly like his fantasies, i think the twins could help bring him back to earth. but i’d also like nicky to become more independent from the twins as time goes on

i completely agree, anon. and i have to admit that i think i do the same with erik (though not to the same extent of course); i struggle to perceive/write him as anything less than perfect, because that's how nicky talks about him. which i completely understand, on nicky's part. absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. he doesn't think of the little habits of erik's that would annoy him, or the practical bits about their day-to-day life, when he's too busy dreaming of all the other parts of their life together. it's the same for erik.

they've also spent something like 6 years apart by the time nicky moves back to germany, which is most of their twenties. especially nicky has had a lot of experiences that would have changed him as a person. obviously they've still been talking regularly the entire time, but there's still work to be done just to get to know each other again.
