What are you thoughts on Daniil's statement??
Let's go for an (almost) sentence by sentence analysis, shall we?
I really hope for a peaceful solution to this situation in Ukraine and that we can all live in peace.
Not a situation, it's a war but ok
Hopefully all parties can find a solution
Two parties: invader (Russia) and country trying to desperately defend itself (Ukraine). One solution: Russian army packs up and heads back home
by sitting together and through a respectful dialogue.
The respectful dialogue option was thrown out the window when the madman in the bunker decided "alright, time for a full military invasion of a sovereign country".
It horrifies me to see two brotherhood nations in a conflict.
that Ukraine and Russia are two separate nations and that Ukraine should not be forcefully annexed to Russia under the guise of "liberation from the current Nazi government"? (I honestly am lost as the what the current excuse provided by Putin is. Are we still on the Nazi government or have we moved on to something else?)
I don't want military actions
Not a military action - a war. Use your big boy words, Dany
and wars
One war - Russia vs Ukraine
to influence the future of humanity, I want my daughter and all children to enjoy this beautiful world.
Hard agree but the man in the bunker is threatening to take his nuclear toys out for a spin. At this rate there will be no world left.
But wait, here's my fav part:
I also would like to highlight and address all sports federations across the world including IOC
Translation: I'm in a pissy mood because now there's the threat of this becoming a me problem, therefore I will subtly try to lecture a whole ass international governing body about their decisions without actually acknowledging the real culprit behind all this who caused the extraordinary situation that we are currently dealing with (military invasion of a sovereign country, remember?)
that sport should remain outside politics
It's war. People are literally being killed. This is not a political opinion, it's a fact.
and disallowing Russian athletes and teams from participating in world competitions is an unfair solution and goes against what sport teaches us in its principle- the unity and peace.

We already went over this argument, not gonna further elaborate again.
Who else if not us sports people will help to glue nations together in the upcoming times.
Nice sentiment, but again... Read the room.
Also, would have respected this half-assed notes app apology more if he had spoken up the moment sanctions started trickling down and affecting the everyday people of Russia, his fellow countrymen y'know? Yes he chose the moment when his WEC seat got threatened to speak up. Funny that.
